She definitely will be back...she signed a two sequel contract when she signed on to do the first movie.

She'll be back, but probably ask for a bigger role.

To be fair they did have to deal with 7 main characters plus quite a few minor ones in a 2 hour movie. With Kirk and Spocks stories already told hopefully they'll give Chekov, Sulu, Scotty and Uhura a bit more screen time.

That's always been the problem with Star Trek movies, even going back to the original crew movies. Not enough time in a 2 hour movie to make good use of seven main characters. TV Series Trek always does a much better job of this - in a series, you can devote an entire ep or two to each main character...

Exactly. And anyway, Avatar may be huge, but STXI was hardly a small, indie film either. And if it turns into a trilogy then she has the chance to become a real icon...I don't think many actresses would turn that down. Although my fave role of hers is still Pirates Of The Carribbean. I'd love for her to be in the new film of that (since they're apparently ditching the dreary Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan for this one).

I know she's in the movie, but I have heard zero-point-zero about her role in the press. Voice acting doesn't promote your career; her role in Star Trek did that.

She wasn't voice acting. She was also physically acting that was captured on a new motion capture camera.

But your point is that because she wasn't seen on the screen that it would not advance her career like Star Trek would. She has been in many magazine articles about the movie as well as on TV where her role on Avatar has been discussed. I think being in both Star Trek and Avatar have greatly advanced her career.

She will be in XII. The only question is if the rumors of a nude scene are true.

Are you sure? Then Star Trek XII would have to be Rated R and only part of the movie going audience would be able to see the sequel. I doubt Paramount would want to make the sequel Rated R. Unless they can do that with a PG-13 rating?

Well it is just a rumor. I think you can get away with a thonged ass, a nip slip, or a side view nude and still get the PG-13.

Well if there's going to be a nude Uhura scene then I demand a nude Spock scene too!

She signed a contract. Many do break them and studios bargain their way out of them. None of the cast is a for sure thing. Pine and Quinto are crucial and may try to sit out for more $$$. The thing I want to point out is the brilliance of JJ Abrams. He put together the movie and the cast. He can put together another and another if he wishes. The alternative timeline established the break with canon restrictions. Wouldn't it be a hoot if he went with another ship and crew!
