Every time I catch a repeat of the Next Genertation and Wil Wheaton comes on screen my husband no matter where he is in the house screams out "douche baaaaaaaaaaag".

I dont understand his hatred for the actor. Any stories I should be aware of?

None that I am aware of. His character may have stunk but the actor himself knows that and is a pretty cool guy from what I have read.

Wesley is just an intolerably excited kid who gets to work on a starship. I honestly can't say I blame him for being so hyper. What is he, 15? I wasn't even allowed to drive a car at that age. But I can never forgive him for suggesting the Enterprise let Okona aboard.

Wesley is awesome!!! What r u guys talking about??? He's very nice and I don't see anything wrong with his character. A young gentleman as far as i'm concerned.

The character is irritating because it's a starship full of trained professionals and Wesley seems to come up with some crap way to save the day, whilst all the real characters remain clueless.
It's just annoyingly unrealistic.

Wil Wheaton is a reasonably decent guy, but he's not a comedian and he should stop trying so hard to be funny.
Apart from that he's cool enough.

I've never met him so I prefer to reserve judgment until when or if that meeting ever takes place.

Some fans resented that Wesley Crusher - a teenager - was instrumental in saving the "Enterprise" when the senior staff seemed unable to do so.

he has become obnoxious, that's all. A lot of former Trek actors have done this to a degree, Shatner included. Basically he is just a guy who finds work underground. Anyone remember hearing his voice in GTA San Andreas, he was pretty funny.
