Though I did like the Dutch approach to fries. Their mayonnaise is more flavorful and less greasy than the American standard. I had about half a kilogram of frieten for dinner one evening, washed down with a couple of beers, while perched on my hotel balcony watching the stoners drift unsteadily by.

The ones made in the belgian fries shop with mayo or "Stoofvleessaus" (a kind of meat sauce) ¿

 Nice one. Those fries are so good, I remember getting mine from a fry stand. One of these days I'm going to try and make my own Dutch mayonnaise, someday

Oh, I LOVE the Holland fries...but I like Seattle fries, too...instead of mayo some of us slather on the tartar sauce...Yum, Yum.

It's not what you're picturing. It's more like the stuff you dip a Bloomin' Onion in, though not quite so spicy. And not quite so pink.

McDonalds "fries" are pathetic. Skinny and unfilling.
Go to a halfway decent corner fish and chip shop and get them with crabsticks, flake, dim-sims....
American fast food outlets just have no idea how to make good chippies.

You get what you pay for. Sorry, but when I pay a dollar im not expecting to receive Idaho premium spuds and a filled and satisfied stomach. I'm looking to make it back to work in 25 minutes
