Fans do not control Star Trek. The franchise which owns Star Trek controls it. Is there not a quote by Roddenberry who once spoke on this subject if he allowed fans to control Star Trek what it would become?

Star Trek is not owned by a franchise, the brand known as "Star Trek" (5 TV series and 11 motion pictures as well as books, novels, toys, etc) is the franchise, which is owned by CBS Studios Inc. and Paramount Pictures uses by arrangement/agreement/under license...

:logical:

Right so the franchise is CBS. They control Star Trek and Paramount is under their agreement. The point was if the fans or the franchise own Star Trek. Not CBS or Paramount.

Wrong.

CBS is not "the franchise." CBS is the owner.

CBS owns the franchise, which is the entire entity of Star Trek itself.

Star Trek (the five series, 11 movies, licensed products, etc) is the franchise.

Now you follow?

:logical:

I wonder if it was stupid to break up the Trek franchise into TV and Movies and they should have just kept it all under Paramount? This way we would know that they would have to do a Trek TV using Abrams Trek Universe.

Well, I think it was stupid to break the franchise between two seperate entities, even if they are owned by the same corporation.

We all know that it is time for TWOK to be remastered.  There are many space scenes that need to be replaced.  Also wouldn't it be nice if Kahn beemed over to the Enterprise and met Kirk atleast once.

I would love to see the space scenes redone, especially the mutar nebula scene.  Let the nebula be spectacular and Kirk really utilize his knowledge of three dimensional thinking to get Kahn.  That would be cool.

I agree with him theough the Blue Ray points out too many flaws in the movie, its better left on regular DVD.

I disagree entirely.

There's no reason to "remaster" the film. It is a classic and it is fine the way it is.

As to the plot "improvements" you've suggested...how would you propose they make that stuff happen?

I'd rather they live by the tried-and-tested motto "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

It was known that Roddenberry faked the number of fan letters being sent in. In the 60's their were not alot of Science Fiction fans anyway.

How dare you insinuate that the great bird of the galaxy actually fabricated something. ¿He was an honest man whose vision of a bright future and human evolu....

Oh who the #### am I kidding.
