I would have to agree on that, a voice recognizition system and don't forget the design and above all... a touchscreen function. After all, it is a touchscreen they're using... Not sure if Linux is capable of that though...

Yeah, V.O. would be good, i may have to bundle it into the code using the code from an open-source V.O. project, as for touch screen, i dont think Linux can do that, but ill look into it,
Any more ideas?

OK, with a little Googling, i found this:
http://freespeech.sourceforge.net/
Free, Open Source and you can obtain the code, perfect, what ill do is release the basic version, without V.O. or touchscreen, if i can find, and then you can download patches to make it however you like, so you can choose from like, T.N.G. Lcars or VOY. Lcars.
I have just started making it, but i have lots of other commitments, so it might be available at the later end of this year.

OK, another update, You can use touchscreen with Linux, you don't need to download anything, nor any patches, just plug in the touchscreen and your done.
Oh, and by "i have just started making it" by that i mean, my first ever Linux OS, not the LCARS, Will anyone be using this Side-By-Side with another OS, and should i make a boot loader default or optional, because its 5 GB?
One more thing, will anybody be using this in a language other than English, should I make language patches?

Ok, another update, i have made a website for the project using Google Sites, it can be found here: http://sites.google.com/site/lcarslinux/home its a little bare for now and the wiki is all on defaults, so dont be drawn away, it will be complete in a few days. All updates will now be on the site, and not on here
