If this whole story were true, I find it very ill conceived for the Romulans to send troops to Vulcan. What were they hoping to accomplish by this? Vulcan is a member in the federation and as such the federation would respond with ALL of starfleet descending on VULCAN!!!
What I never understood was, ESPECIALLY NOW, I have always found romulans to be a more intriguing race than kingons, and DS9 did them some justice as being methodical, calculated professionals, and then NEM throws it all out the window. Like the Tal Shiar would ever sit by and watch Shinzon do what he did. the TNG crew screwed up Romulans huge, into the movie NEM.

Would've liked it better if Denise Crosby wasn't in it. Storyline gets too forced with her presence, takes away from the real plot. Why oh why didn't any production house hire her?

I'm surprise Sela did not make a grab for power after Shinzon fell.

WTF?
Sela was definitely needed in unification.

I agree - Sela was a must-have for "Unification"!
Sadly, she wasn't used for "Nemesis" - but I could see that the Romulans would have no use for Sela after she screwed up the whole Duras situation, the invasion of Vulcan, AND letting Spock & co. get away.
They would not have given her a third chance.

The Tal Shiar was pretty much destroyed when they joined forces with The Obsidian Order and invaded the Founders homeworld just to find out it was a trap. So, they couldn't have done much of anything to stop Shinzon.

I hope that there will be a Best-of TNG 3, and that it will include the 2-part Unification episode.
The movies leave it up to the fans to bridge the gap between movies and TV episodes, from what I keep reading. XI may present the biggest gap of all to bridge.
