Which Trek XI bridge did you prefer?

I REALLY liked the Kelvin bridge. It felt realistic. The bridge seemed as if a very busy environment and had a very "submarine" look to it. All the details just seemed right. The background chatter, the mics that some crew members had, the multiple main viewers, the equipment itself. Everything just seemed real.

The Enterprise bridge seemed more of a kids playground. I know the Enterprise was a couple decades in the future and brand new, but it just wasn't believable for me. The Trek XII bridge should be more like the Kelvin!

In fact, I think the opening sequence was the best sequence in Trek history. The bridge layout, the feeling of a very busy work environment, and realism helped greatly with that.

I know that they were trying to create uniforms remeniscent to the series - but the Kelvin uniforms were much better also.

I take one statement back: The best star trek sequence ever was Spock's death in Trek II, the opener in Trek XI was second best ever.

Does anyone think they'll redesign the Enterprise bridge for the next movie?

The Kelvin's Bridge just looked right for the time period.

The iBridge: too big, too bright, too many crewmen.

This thread makes some good points. Many fans love the Kelvin bridge and for good reason. It is a very good bridge with a sense of dark realism. The new bridge was very bright and shiny for some people. In the next movie they can tone down the new bridge. They should not use something dark like the Kelvin but it can be toned down or turn off some lights. Having said this I do like the contrast between these 2 bridge examples. The darker tone of the Kelvin sets it apart from what is seen later on the Enterprise which was part of the purpose for making them different. I do like them both however.

The Kelvin.

The feel was reminiscent of the NX-01's bridge, yet showed the progression toward the TOS bridge. It was simple yet efficient. Not cluttered and oppressively bright like the iBridge that was inflicted on us.

:logical:

The Kelvin bridge was a step up from the NX-01 but their are 25 years after the Kelvin and the 1701's bridge. Also how does the Kelvin's bridge compare to the TOS prime 1701? You would have the Kelvin's tech then go to TOS prime's tech? Nero interfered with the timeline and as Orci or Kurtzman said the Kelvin's shuttle's took scans of the Narada and they backward engineered the 24th Century technology.

I'll admit the only thing they got right in this goof-fest movie is the Kelvin's bridge. :logical:

If you eliminate the lights on the Enterprise bridge it really isn't a bad design. The thing about the Kelvin bridge is that except for the picture that is posted here I don't think the movie really gives you a good look at it. Most of the shots in the opening are of the people's faces.

I like them equally for different reasons.

What about how white it is? Is this too much for anybody?

Definitely the Kelvin over the iBridge.

That is also what I was going to say that the new bridge reminds me of the Motion Picture bridge. I also feel they can turn down some of the lights in the next movie or show times when the lights are lower and some when they are higher for variety. But I still like the new Enterprise bridge and also the Kelvin bridge.

100% correct.

JJTrek was supreme in the opening Kelvin scene, I wish the entire film was like that, sadly, it never achieved that level of greatness again for rest of the film.

The bridge is still on top.  You must be thinking of the scene where it pans out of the bridge and to the exterior.. but if you observe you'll see that the camera turns upside down so we get a nice upside down shot.
