Star Trek

My mother had just gotten back from Chattanooga, Tenn. and was exhausted, but I made her take me and my little sister to see the movie.  We stood in line with a bunch of Trek geeks talking about the original series, becasue that's all there was to talk about, and my mom kept rolling her eyes at them.  I got inside and bought a program, two pins (new enterprise and a command insignia, and  a couple of colorful buttons.   There was a huge display in the lobby with lights that I wanted badly.   The scene where Kirk tours the new Enterprise from the ouside was nirvana for me.

Hmmm, 30 years ago....

I was 13.  Mom and I went to ST:TMP at our local theater.  It was okay, but mom & I were just happy for Star Trek to be back!!
