Hits a HOME RUN..Truth hurts dosen't it, son. :D

Oh yes, and your record of accuracy and consistency is bar none on this forum.

Even if you had hit a home run that would make you batting one for fifty maybe. an .020 average. I used to play baseball and would be cut for hitting like that even with a home run. LOL

Perhaps if there are no intentions to convert people and you're just sharing your opinions, you guys should take your message to a film board and express your opinions in an environment neutral from the site. ¿A fan board is going to yield you no results other than being labeled a troll. ¿The tone in your comments ("everything they do sucks," "intimidated by people who make sense," "curious little monkeys") basically means you *want* to rile people up and not actually discuss opinions whatsoever.

What kind of "revenge" are you actually going to get if indeed a sequel were to fail to meet expectations? ¿You would seriously feel better inside if the movie wasn't received well or made no money? ¿Does this mean you will chuckle relentlessly from behind your keyboard because a movie fails? ¿Oh, my! ¿Sweet revenge!

There are posts critical of the movie everyday around here, from people who even enjoyed the movie. ¿Perhaps if you discussed them like an adult people would listen to your so-called opinions instead of bashing you. ¿As it stands, however, the methods you've taken have garnered you the label of 4 year old spoiled brats.

Now that IS funny!

Well, I have to agree with that. ?

Even though Spears' can't sing (and this is the opinion of the recording engineers that my bro has talked to), and can't write, she's good at the highly sexualized videography or whatever you want to call it that Madonna really perfected beginning in the 80s and into the 90s. ?Madonna was the queen of it and Spears' and her ilk have picked up that torch and is running with it. ?

Now, speaking as someone who played in orchestras, wind ensembles and marching bands and who's a big fan of music, especially really good singers and songwriters, I despise Spears and I've never liked Madonna because I don't think they're real musicians. ?But, hey, thanks to MTV, how you look on a video or on stage (where you have to lip-sync) is now more important than the music itself for the most popular artists. ?This is something that Phil Collins commented on prior to an MTV video awards show in 90s when his career was at its climax. ?Obviously he took advantage of MTV too and made some videos. ?He said videos increased an artist's market but he also said there were a lot of great artists out there who don't or can't get that sort of exposure.

Also, I read an article a few years back about a record exec who turned down a girl with a lovely voice and a great batch of songs because she wasn't attractive.

I just think it's a real shame what the video-effect has done to music. ?It's accentuated the superficial element, one that wasn't really that important before and, maybe even worse, it's pushed the boundaries on what is considered appropriate to be seen on television with highly sexualized acts and videos, examples of which include Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's infamous "wardbrobe malfunction," Adam Lambert's recent tasteless and insensitive (to parents and children) act, etc.

But, heck, Madonna's schtick was enough to get her inducted into the Rock N' Roll hall of fame over other acts who have been eligible for longer (how come the Moody Blues aren't in yet?), so maybe I'm totally wrong on this. ¿Maybe she really is a musical genius on par with the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Kinks etc. ¿

It's sad. ?In the beginning, I liked watching MTV too, but now I wish it had never ever happened.

I've got to say, I didn't have a problem with Adam Lambert's performance at the AMA's...it's pretty much what I expected from him.

I mean, if Britney or Madonna had done that same act, would there have been as much of an uproar?

It smacks of a double standard.

:logical:

Yeah, I know a lot of people have said that sb.  That's what Lambert was saying to.

For me, anyway, I didn't like the Madonna-Britney kiss, or the Jackson-Timberlake "wardrobe malfunction" during the superbowl, or any of that stuff either.

I know pop-music, going back to Elvis, has always pushed social mores and standards, but, maybe it's because I'm not 20 something anymore and have a bunch of nieces and nephews who's parents are really careful about what they're exposed to on TV and with music, but I think a line has to be drawn somewhere.  I think the networks should be more careful on what they show on TV wrt programs that kids and yes, even young teenagers, could be watching.  I just think that Lambert's thing was too much.  If he wants to do that at a concert, fine, but I don't think it was cool at all for him to do that on the AMAs.  And the same applies to any of the female acts, so there's no double standard from me.

Also, a lot of pro-gay marriage backers who are working on the campaign here in California are really angry at him for his act.  They think it will hurt their campaign.

I just think the guy was pretty narcisstic, insensitive, tasteless, and selfish to do what he did on that show and yeah, I've felt the same about Spears' BS and Madonna's over the years as well and I've always said so.

But if you feel differently, SB, that's cool.  I know I'm probably in the minority on this and, like I said, I probably am a bit more conservative than the average American and than I was when I was a younger man wrt what's shown on TV outside of primetime dramas and the like (I mean, I loved NYPD Blue, The Shield, Oz, Deadwood, etc., but I definitely wouldn't let my nieces or nephews watch any of those with me!;), even if I am a democrat!     Like I said, I think it's due to my age and my the influence of my Republican in-laws.
