BTW, how did this go from being about a Voyager movie to Seven of Nine's catsuit? ? ?

Because I said I wouldn't be interested in a Voyager movie without Seven in it...

Really?

I don't think they even consider making a movie if Seven of Nine wasn't in it.

i think i read an interview with her where she said the only way she might possibly come back is it seven were killed off. i'd have to go back and check though.

No. Thank you! I like my characters alive and well. :D

Don't worry, so does Jeri. ¿

Braga thought about killing Seven off in Endgame.

That would have pissed me off knowing that I stuck with the show only to have her die in the last ep.

I think I would have kicked my TV in.
Not that I'm against character death but that would make me feel cheated.

Now you know how J/Cer's feel. Many of us stuck with the show anticipating Janeway and Chakotay would get together at the end. Kate Mulgrew even said in an interview that she anticipated they would be together by the end of the show. Instead we got C/7. I was depressed for days. :(

If you said "Now you know how Janeway fans feel because of the novels," I'd be right with you.

There's a huge difference between killing off a major character--especially a character whose arc is redemption--and not getting a romance that hasn't even been hinted at for 4 years.

Killing off Seven would have said that there are some people who are so beyond redemption, the only way they can find it is to sacrifice themselves for the ship. In other words, she was no better than Suder.

That is not what her arc was saying for 4 years.

This is my pitch for a Voyager movie,

Seven of Nine and Chakotay are all on Rhysa for christmas. Soon they find that Harry, who quit starfleet after a bad accident, starts running a hotel and a new life there. Unfortunately, he is now really greedy and finally depressed. When he sees his friends visiting he is annoyed. After a bad day working he convinces himself that having an affair with Seven will help. She gives in. They fight when she starts asking questions and he tells all his friends to leave the hotel. Seven leaves him a christmas present. He never opens it. Harry finds his his hotel burned down due to negligence when he left an unexperienced ferengi employee to reconfigure the power grid during the affair. With nothing left, he gets very angry and walks the streets. He has a nightmare where he sees himself as a child unwrapping the present Seven left him under the tree; Harry steals it away hastily from his child self and yells "Its mine! You can't have its power!" It explodes with fire, unexpectedly burning him. ?Janeway finds out he is homeless and tries to get him back. Harry feels he has to make his way himself. He starts gambling this time using a custom probability calculator he invents. It malfunctions and he is soon left for dead. In a final dream he really regretted not knowing what Seven had given him that day. He wakes up, and goes back to Voyager to find out. Other friends missed him and he finds wealth of experiences waiting to be received as well as Janeway in a santa suit. Harry opens the gift and sees its a hologram of him in starfleet uniform.

That's a matter of opinion.

Spoiler Alert:

Janeway's death didn't strike me as the same though, because it didn't occur in a Voyager novel, although I was greatly disappointed that she remained dead in Full Circle and Unworthy, especially after we did get the J/C romance! (Oh Don't get me started! )

Anyway, why would I want to "kick the tv in" after being disappointed over a book? :O  That's what I was referring to.  :)

Well, if you consider the lack of a romance that, as exodus notes, was explicitly stated was not in the cards, as being equivalent to relegating a main character to the same position as a sociopath (beyond redemption, except in death)--which completely negates Trek's humanistic view--there's nothing more I can add to that, except...

I'm really glad you weren't TPTB. ;)

Kate said a lot of conflicting things during the show, and even after the show.

She courted the J/7ers as well.

I'll also point out that while actors contribute to the writers' process, they do not have any special insight into plots nor do they write them.

Kate is also famous for talking out of both sides of her mouth too.

For example: she said the Seven of Nine appeals to the lowest common denominator & then turned around and said the character was wonderfully written and added great dynamic to the show.

What's that R&B song?

"Too much, too little, too late."

Besides, who's she trying to fool?
Apologizing to Con. goers isn't the same as apologizing to Jeri herself.
