Probably bought by the same mouth-breathers who like crap like Dancing with the Stars and Twilight, which btw, I will laugh if it's sequel out-grosses JJ-trek which it has a good chance of doing.

Nice. I guess it's official. It made over TWICE the profit of any previous Star Trek Movie at the box office and now the DVD/BluRay disks are selling in droves.

Nope. Keep in mind, "New Moon" has already outgrossed several Trek movies, so you're only going to bump into another brick wall and fall flat on your face.

So, it out grossed 'JJ-trek' as you put it, which isn't surprising really. teenage girls out number Trek fans I bet. So, now that you're laughing, are you laughing at the fact that it has also out grossed all other Trek films? Which, must mean, that they where garbage too then, right?

It hasn't made anywhere near twice the profit. TMP grossed more when adjusted for inflation and ST:II remains the most profitable due to its small budget.

Trek XI is the most successful film in Trek due to its box office. Btw, when you take the ST:TMP box office and adjust it for inflation, do you do the same for the budget?

Of course it's a hit. It was always a hit. I never let any of the drooling goons who try to make it look like it WASN'T a hit confuse the facts.

ST:XI has only the second highest gross. TMP made $5 million more than ST:XI at the box office when you adjust for inflation. ST:II made much more profit because it cost so little. Adjusted for inflation ST:II cost $24 million to make and grossed $204.5 million. That's almost ten times its budget. ST:XI didn't even make three times its budget.
