Wait, aren't you the guy who rants against new tech?  Specifically Blu Ray (another name for HD).

I sense a weakening, come over to the blu side.

Well my rant is with Sony more so than the technology. When you have as bad luck with Sony products as I have you would be very skeptical of any thing they make as well.

I have an HD DVD system and I'm happy with it.

So go with LG, ¿Amazon has their high end player on Black Friday sale for less than $100.

You can't watch ST on an HD system.

Oh really? Season one and two of TOS were released in HD-DVD and It does upconvert my DVD's.

Now these pics you see are HD works of art rendered either in a digital format or are screen caps from DVD's that have been enhanced.

Nope, Only season 1 of TOS was released in HD.  The format died before season 2 was released.

"caps from DVDs that have been enhanced" is still not true HD.

It is when one literally goes through and fixes as many elements possible by hand. As I have done with a few of these.

EDIT:

The HD-DVD format is still in use in countries outside of the United States. For some strange reason people in the U.S. consider it to be dead.

Thanks!

Really all I did was scratch and dust removal where needed and I tried to adjust the lighting for a more realistic effect.
