Was the USS Hermes only fanon? I don't remember it...

Yep...neither the destroyer nor the scout have yet appeared in a canon show or movie...

:logical:

Actually they were shown in a display monitor in TWOK & TSFS so they are indeed canon. ?:logical:

I think the movie does flow pretty well now. I know one member said why didn't Pike shoot the drill at Vulcan? The Shuttle he was in probably didn't have phasers. Also they could have arrived at Vulcan before it was to late to save it.

Also I think another person said that why didn't the Enteprise shoot at the drill at Earth? They wanted to hide the Enterprise in Saturn's rings so the Narada couldn't detect them allowing for Kirk and Spock to beam aboard, stop Nero and have Spock steal the Jellyfish with the Red Matter so that Nero couldn't use it again and at the same Spock uses the ship to shoot the drill.

Also SB63 did you see my explination about Rabu taking the elevator down? He had too because the shuttle bay wasn't connected to the bridge and is behind the bridge. Then he took the stairs up to the Shuttlebay. This could be because that middle part of the Kelvin connecting the Shuttlebay to the primary warp nacelle doesn't have a turbolift or part of it got damaged after the Narada attacked it.

Orci did say they read alot of Star Trek books researching for the movie. Maybe that old tech manual was one of them?

That's Robau, TF... ;)

Yes, I saw it...it just seems like a long way he went down, and means there wasn't a heck of a lot inside the hull of that ship.

Where did they keep 800 people??

:logical:

The shuttlebay looks far from the bridge to me so it could have taken a long time. The saucer section is big, along with the bottom nacelle. They could have also kept some in the shuttlebay area. Are you just talking about the crew? Didn't the NX-01 have a crew of 400? The Kelvin looks bigger than the NX-01.

They could have hot bunked like they do on modern Aircraft Carriers which would explain the size and make the most sense.

After all in TREK XI Star Fleet is an "Armada" not a pace keeping organization.  :logical:

In Voyager they flashed back to the Excelsior and we saw the crewmembers bunking with each other I think two to a room. Tuvok had a roomate.

I didn't know they still hot bunked in the modern day Navy...

:logical:

They do it on the Nimitz class carriers. They have a ships compliment of 5,000.
