Getting rid of Wesley would be a colossal mistake, considering he kept the ship and its crew from being annihilated on numerous occasions.

But when Wes left it became Data's job to save the ship, albeit not as often, but still, since he's not human, especially like on Genesis and such episodes.

I must be the only person on the Internet who likes Wesley. Not in the first season, though, but after that he was okay.

I have a pet theory that Trekkies hate Wesley because he reminds them of themselves.
