I would love to be able to polarize those lens flares.

Was watching a very clear online copy of the movie this morning for a few minutes...

At the very beginning, when Captain Robau walks onto the bridge of the Kelvin he has a Starfleet insignia on his uniform (you can see it when he orders the viewwindows polarized).

When he sits down and faces toward the viewwindow...look quick...

There's no insignia on his chest.

Oops!!

This is an interesting observation! Can you point this out in the screen caps? Here is the link again. Thank you for sharing!

I loved the opening sequence... just did not like the "polarised viewscreen". They should have gone with the original design instead.

I actually noticed it when I saw it the first time in the theater. Mistakes like these are very common in all movies.

Yes I think I also noticed it but since it happens so fast it did not compute or I was not sure of it.

Sharp catch. I was thinking it fell off upon impact.

I would love to be able to polarize those lens flares.

Notice I mentioned nothing about the NCC-1701, the blood on young Spock's lip nor much of the plethora of common complaints of STXI.

It's difficult to understand why Abrams feels the need to make his movies appear to be what someone having a grand mal seizure would see. The cinematography of STXI and MI-III is simply bizarre. Fringe isn't like that...

He admittedly went out of his way to produce those lens flares :O Didn't he believe the battle scenes could be exciting enough without being nauseating?

Imagined concept:
Abrams: "This is a good story with great potential. Now, how can I screw it up?"

What was the mistake with the blood on Spock
s lip?

sure there are complaints as with any film. A couple of month back I pointed out every flaw in TWOK.

So in the end TREK XI has many flaws as does any of the other TREK movies.

Yes this is true. For fun I like to look at all the goofs there are many listed on the imdb pages for Star Trek movies!

The lens flare drove me nuts. Hated it. It was distracting.

There are continuity errors and plot holes in many movies, Star Trek movies included, I often like finding them but they never really stop me from liking too many movies.

1. Robau is so awesome and bad@ss he scared the insignia right off his chest!

or

2. We are all blinded by his awesomeness and can't see the insignia even though it's really there! LOL
