D@mn... I am dying to read what happens next in the 24th century...

Too bad we will have to get through 3/4 of the year with TOS and nuTOS before TREK literature gets interesting again.

Oh so TOS isn't interesting?

The Vanguard series is easily the best TREK novel series to date.(Mind you I like all TREK books equally)

There is no new Vanguard novel planned for next year...  :(

And yeah, TOS timeline has been beaten to death (I am not taking about the new one).

And the books for next year just serve as gap fillers between the various TOS movies or episodes.

Vanguard rocks. I love this series, but as I said, no book planned for that series.

Yea, the newest Vanguard book comes out this month as does the newest Titan novel(which I just picked up). The next Vanguard book after this month's release is 2011.

Don't knock any book series until you try it. After all most of the early TNG books were terrible.(Yea i was reading them as they were released unfortunately)

Excuse me????

Terrible?

Well I thought DESTINY was outstanding... no that does not fit it, it was probably the best TREK story written ever.
The direct follow up "Losing the Peace" was also a masterpiece.

We do not know what will happen next in the TNG timeframe, that's what makes it exciting...

On the other side we know exactly what happens in the TOS timeframes with the TOS characters, that's why those stories do not interest me (except for Vanguard of course).

I said EARLY TNG books (Writen in the early 1990's), They improved greatly after TNG ended and finally neared perfection with the relaunch of TNG in books.

Oh, okay... just overread that word.

But even some of the early TNG books were awesome:

"The Romulan Prize" for example, "Blaze of Glory", "Possession", "The Romulan Stratagem" are superb reads.

Ugh. I didn't know there was going to be such a wait for the next Vanguard book. Guess I'll have to partition out the ones I have left to read.
