Doctor Who game???

I was thinking of a different type of game in the Doctor Who universe...players can be different incarnations of the Doctor, his companions or they can make a custom Timelord and/or new companions, personalities from Torchwood, the possibilities are endless. If there's enough interest in the idea I'd like to start a new simm.

I'm aware the canon storyline is that The Doctor is the last of his race, but then again if the Daleks can come back, I don't see why someone with a little imagination can't bring back Romana or anyone else. Personally, I'd like to play my own custom Timelord who somehow survived the Time War.

what do you y'all think?

I like that idea :D I actually did one of those a while back, but people disappeared after awhile, so I had to resign myself to playing a Time Lord in the Trek universe...........anyway, I say we do it :D

Actually, a Doctor Who/Star Trek hybrid game would be wild! What if, say, a starship had the new Quantum Slipstream Drive (from Voyager & the Star Trek: Destiny novels) and the TARDIS was hooked into it? Fast forward a bit, lose the Starfleet types, and we could have a crew of Time Lords and their companions (and maybe a few non-comms for NPC padding & redshirts)!

@ Lucifer: I like :D

@ EnterpriseTimeLord: That was fun

@ Darth_Chedder: I like slightly less :logical:

I'd prefer it if we had multiple Time Lords, as well, each with their own TARDIS. But obviously we'd need companions as well...and bad guys :p lol, dibs on Torchwood and the Dalek Emperor :rookie:

No.

Just...no.

Doctor Who and Star Trek should never be mixed. It just doesn't work.

Shot rather brutally down in flames there, I feel :D
I completley and utterly agree with you, hence the -

:logical:

- but no need to be so spirit-crushing

I'd still be up for a real DW RP, anyway. Sel, couldn't you muster some support from Doctor Who forums like you did last time? ¿:p

Oh, but SBC, spirit-crushing is so much fun! :p

I'm speaking from personal experience with players mixing different genres of sci-fi together. It rarely works. :p

As much as I like watching Doctor Who...I wouldn't want to do a Whoniverse RPG. It just doesn't appeal to me.

lol, Angel, thankfully I wasn't one of the insiders on the Adams Trek/Wars fiasco, having never actually served there - but I know of it's epic levels of disasterous failure from reputation :D Is that the experience of which you speak?

EDIT:

Actually, was that the Adams?   I know that there was also a disasterous failure there, perhaps i've combined the two in my mind.

I actually wasn't a member of the Adams during that disaster. I saw some of the aftermath though. :bugout:

It happens on a number of sites, all the time.

For those who don't know of this fiasco we're speaking of, heres' the short version...a troll had resgistered onto the forums and began spamming our mission thread with posts about Darth Vader fighting Captain Kirk and Benjamin Sisko. And they had lightsabers. No shit.

I don't know what failure you speak of; the Adams is still currently active and has been for years.

Actually it's gone through several dormant periods. You can't say "active for years" when that happens. :p

Kidding. I used to play there, but there are writers on that site that I cannot RP with, so I left.
