B&B seemed adept at creating scenarios and characters with great potential. I think the premise of ENT is wonderful, and it dealt with some of the narrative problems in previous series. They recognized that space travel wasn't feeling as dangerous as it should, they recognized that holodecks had become a writers' crunch, they recognized that by the time the Borg were defeated, the Federation was pretty unstoppable - so making a prequel solved all those issues. All the characters, including poor abandoned Travis, had great potential from the start.

Very nice summation of the potential in ENT we ALL appreciated--and it delivered as well, of course, enough of the time that we like the series. But (Trekbuff should be here), we the most literate fans sure are aware of where B&B and their bosses fell down, after a great concept.

Confused Matthew isn't exactly a great fan of Star Trek Enterprise

I quote what he said about it

"I'm not going to dignify that show by even speaking of it's name, that show doesn't need any more attention than it's already gotten, not even negative attention, it should be dead, buried and greatly forgotten, it was more than just a bad show and it was more than just Star Trek gone wrong, IT'S DEAD TO ME"

I didn't think it was bad show and I didn't it was Star Trek gone wrong, if he thinks Enterprise is star trek gone wrong, then what about Deep Space Nine?

What about DS9?

:logical:

Well starbase 63, there were plenty of DS9 episodes that was pretty far away from what star trek was all about

"In the Pale moonlight" is a good example

DS9 is probably the show closest to what TREK's about and it's the only spin-off to do an original(meaning unique format) take on TREK.

I love it how people cite one of the best episodes in TREK ¿and call it the worst. Frikken moron!

I agree Deep Space Nine was a good Star Trek show. But to say one show or another is closest to what Star Trek is about? I do not think of Star Trek in those terms.

All TREK shows have their highs and lows, yet it's far from true to say DS9 is/far from what TREK is about.

Now that is a statement I can get behind.

I think he means Deep Space Nine is a good Star Trek show and that is one of the best episodes but I do not know that it personifies Star Trek. That is my guess.

I think the no conflict rule was one of Rodenberry's mistakes with Trek. So much more could have been explored like they did in DS9.

Ok, If they do a big screen event, I would like to see them weave together some loose ends. 1.Romulan war- picking up from where T'Pol and her mom did their contribution, Seeing the Romulan at the end. 2. The Klingon War which concludes in STOS. 3, when transfering the crew from Archer's Enterprise, seeing Captain Robert April and the first incarnation of the Constitution class Enterprise. (April had it, then Pike, then Kirk.- Spock served 22 yrs under Pike. before the transfer) but have Yoshi teach Uhura, a young Mr. Scott reading the tech manuals of Tripp, McCoy being kicked out of Vloxx's class room in the Academy. books, and Holo Lectures by the older NX-01 Enterprise. This could lead to a charismatic rendering of the Audiobook Enterprise read by James Doohan. Regarding Capt. April, and Kirk's dad, the Security Officer being responsible for the Romulan's creating the cloaking device. (Read the book).

Ok, so "You can change the Laws of Physics" so what?

Have an old Admiral Archer at the end of whatever last movie talking to and being persuaded by the young Scotty- per movie reference. but, have the story be a bit different from Scotty's tale, as he often did in the Original Series. Scotty had done the plants transportation experiment, Did the rat's experiment, but wanted to besure the behaviors were not missing from the atomic structuring of the 'subject' so Mr. Scott called for a larger more intelligent test subject. Telling the other officer to send it his way. Well, Porthos was walking the halls and wondered into the Transporter Room. Scotty lit up, grabbed the dog, and beamed it away in the new distance experiment. Admiral Archer is wondering the halls, asking if anyone had seen his dog Porthos. He walks in, looking around, and asks Scotty if he had seen a dog wondering the halls. Mr. Scott realized the transporter subject was not exactly the volunteer as assumed. Scotty replied "You mean the dog sent to me for the transporter experiment?" With not being able to retrieve Porthos, Admiral Archer arranged for the young and otherwise brilliant engineer to be 'reassigned' to a new post to study and come up with a method of getting the dog back. This would set Scotty right where he was. To make the situation even funnier, and ironic, would be that- as Scotty, and Kirk beamed away to Enterprise, Mr. Spock used his knowledge of transporters to bring Porthos back, and When Spock comes to earth, he and a happy lil Beagle walk off the ship, and Spock gives the Beagle to the Admiral, and explained the engineer had done this, and had to participate in an emergency mission with Enterprise [So Scotty would not be punished for unauthorized departure (Escape) from his post]. Mr. Scott gets accomodations and reassignment to her, with Captain Kirk's approval.

Ok, so "You can change the Laws of Physics" so what?

THE FUTURE OF ENTERPRISE SHOULD BE A TV MOVIE OR A STRAIGHT TO DVD MOVIE IT MIGHT HAVE TO BE SET AFTER THESE ARE THE VOYAGERS THO WHICH MIGHT BE HARD TO DO. THE CAST MIGHT RETURN FOR IT IF ASKED. THE BEST WE COULD HOPE FOR IS T,POL TO STILL BE ALIVE AND BEING IN THE NEXT STAR TREK MOVIE EITHER JOLENE BLALOCK WILL RETURN OR SOME1 ELSE NATALIE PORTMAN WOULD BE PERFECT AS A NEW T,POL.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOOOOOOOOOOOUT!!!
