I think this is why they describe one of the themes as the universe fixing itself and how this relates to quantum realities. The writers mention there are many similar Star Trek universes as we see from "Parallels." These realities are all similar but different. In many of these universes there is a Starfleet and a Captain Kirk. In one universe it takes a long time of service to reach Captain and the one with the new movie he reaches Captain through a more direct method. Both of these realities contain a Captain Kirk even though they are both different. This is how I feel they wish to express the universe will fix itself and try to reach a state where something is more likely to occur with quantum probability.

Did you get Star Trek on dvd? I am finding the more I watch it the more there is to appreciate.

Maybe you feel this way then. I did not know if I would like it more or less after watching it on dvd. But now I know. I do like the cast very much and part of what is great in this movie is watching all the subtle character interactions. Do you have any favorite characters of this movie?

That is fine. I did not like Keenser at first but now I do. I also like that Deep Roy played this part.
