Instead of rebooting those shows, they should focus on "new worlds", and new ideas.

To be honest I'm quite tired of this idea.  Its been done on 4 out of the 5 TV shows.  I'd rather they spend time develop the alien races we already do know, as well as humanity's interactions with them.

I know what you mean but it is my opinion that every Star Trek show visited new alien worlds and also saw familiar ones. I feel all Star Trek has approached this dilemma in a balanced way to compromise. Here is a chart to show how it is all dispersed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Trek_races

I agree... I would like to see something like "Articles of the Federation" or "A Singular Destiny" made into a series. Connecting the dots from the various TREK shows, evolving the known universe.
ENTERPRISE did that with season 4, and look what a close to perfect season it became.

Yes Enterprise season 4 is very good! I like how it leads directly to what is shown in the Original Series and later Star Trek. I would also like to see a series which can thread all of Star Trek together and still be an evolution of something new and unexplored.

You should defineatly read "Articles of the Federation" and "A Singular Destiny". Two books which are unlike any TREK we have seen or read before... they are really exploring "new worlds" and new ways.
I just wish the next TV producer would have the backbone to create something in that style.

Interesting and thank you for the tip! I did not hear of these books before but sometime I will check them out.

I see it quite differently. I love Star Trek and I loved the new movie. Therefore for those who did love the new movie we are naturally curious to know how will our other much loved Star Trek series like TNG, VOY & DS9 look and be like in this new alternate universe?

It is fun to speculate about that and with many creative and artistic fans in Star Trek I really appreciate their attempts to satisfy that curiosity.

Especially when some of the fan base will not even support.

That is why I have felt a cross over movie with DS9 or VOY wouldn't work. Not that I wouldn't want to see that type of movie, I just don't think it would appeal beyond the fan base.

Very true. With this movie they had to signal it was not only for the fans but for everyone. This is another reason it experienced success.

Also add The Romulan War: Beneath The Raptor's Wing to that list.

aside from a few minor exceptions, and one major exception, Season 4 of Enterprise, IMO, is one of my favorite seasons of all the entire Trek Franchise. I've never been so constantly hooked onto one season like that before (not even with DS9, which is my favorite series)

I don't want to see other actors pretending to be the crews of TNG, DS9 or ENT.

Id just like to say that the original actors were also pretending to be the crews of TNG, DS9 and ENT.
