Star Trek Talaxian Sighting

If the first contact with Delta Quadrant species is when Voyager gets stuck there, why did I see a Talaxian today in the street? It wasn't a Halloween costume, it was a mature woman Talaxian! I can't imagine that anyone would style their hair to look like that on purpose, so it must have been one.

I know I've seen Vulcans in Vancouver.

No. Just trying to get an 'Elvis was here' kind of thread going. I swear this woman had never seen Voyager but still looked oddly out of 'quadrant.'
