Great action new ships, got to love them. Best of all it was a Star Trek movie. Can't wait for my next fix.

Nemesis was not a bad movie, only a poorly directed one. One poster stated it was Bairds fault. I did read in an recent article somewhere that Baird as a director on the film was not well liked. Wouldn't take suggestions from the actors while filming, Didn't know squat about the franchise and some things I do not really recall. The two I stated really show IMO.
Otherwise, the story though seemingly recycled was good. The special FX was quite superb, except the scenes of the Enterprise-E going to warp looking like it had smoke trailing out of it's nacelles almost like a burnout of tires.
Like I said not a bad movie at all.

I'm sure I weighted in on this before, but there are definitely good things about Nemesis:
1. Solid Star Trek theme: Nature vs. nurture and the idea that "to be human is to strive to make yourself a better person."
2. Good character moments: Riker and Troi wedding (although Data singing is an indulgence of Spiner's they should have cut), Picard facing his past, Riker leaving to command the Titan, etc.
3. Fun adventure / action story
4. Good battle at the end of the movie.
5. Production values and design
Overall, it's the second-best TNG film, in CLOSE second behind FC in my book.

I really enjoy nemesis, its up there among my favs too. My only issue with it is there were too many bits/conversations that only a fan would understand. They needed to make sure it had wider appeal.
I actually agree with Vger, it was about what it means to be human and made you a little introspective.

I always liked Nemesis. It's not the best Star Trek film, but it has its merits. There's no denying that the Battle in the Bassen Rift was pretty awesome.

I have to say I have always enjoyed Nemesis, unlike seeingly many. I have the videotape version, which of course, does not have the deleted scenes-two of which I saw actually just tonight on youtube(Alwya behind, but eventually, I catch up)where I saw the Picard/Datascene after the wedding. As some posters there commented,it should have been included in the film. It was one of those classic Picard teaches Data a new aspect of humanity moments, and it's tinged with the deep regard that both have for one another, and the others. A shame it wasn't left in. To what was good in the finished product, well, finally, Will and Deanna tie the knot, yaa!...and I found the effort touching Picard made to reach Shinzon, a tragic figure in that he did not acheive his potential, and yes, he was a victim, at least up to a point. His desire to see his adopted people free was in itself noble, but the means extreme. The space battles were a nice return-to in the films after Insurrection, yes, I do love a good knock-down-drag-out in the void, the effects good...and while the death of Data was not something I was fond of, the remembrance scene with his family on the E was moving. His sacrifice echoes Spock's, and he took the lessons he learned to heart...in Data's own unique way I don't think we need to overly anaylyze, or question...He told Picard he would miss him, in that deleted scene, were they not together. I thought about the scene between he, Troi, and Will in that one ep in the lift, and his pathways ' becoming accustomed to them'. If you view it in a certain light, perhaps, Nemesis was about two men, and their 'brethren'.....one who could have developed, and done good in the world, and another who yet might...

True, but I would have liked to see some starfleet ships join in. The new warbirds were sweet but nothing beats seeing new starfleet ships.

Too right, you'd think they would have ships on stand by along the Neutal Zone, also where was Sala and Spock in all this etc.

3 Great things 1) We finally see what the Remans look like. That was cool.3
2) Shinzon was a pretty cool villan, deceitful and dark but logical in
in his madness like the romulans. And the new warbirds were cool.
3) Riker and troi finally got hitched and finally accepted a command.
Other than that is was a horrible movie, it must have been exciting staying on one set the whole time and leaning, left and right on cue. A overblown episode of TNG that Nemesis was.

I think there were far less bad things than good, so my list would too be long. I'll leave it at:
Good to see E in a real fight. Great score. I can't decide sometimes between this or First Contact.

The best thing about Nemesis was it finally put the TNG Cast out to pasture. Nobody wanted to see Cpt Nancy, His #2 and #2's Wife Mumra anymore.

When I saw Fatty Rikerbuckle and his wife Wynonna Judd in Nemesis, I thought "Oh great, another movie where we go save whales"
