Look....With all the negativety on this board It's time to get a little positive..Clearly TNG was the best series that came out of Star Trek, no one can dispute that and no other Captain can capture the dignity and magnitude of Jean Luc Picard, it is a shame we won't see his brilliance on screen again, or the brilliance of TNG series

Inspite of a few loons here who feel they must condemn ANYONE who hates that Goofy Star Trek movie by JJ Abrams, it's time to ignore them and talk about Star Trek we love,

Nemesis wasn't perfect but it was a decent entertaining movie and we did see nice things like Riker and Troi's wedding

A nobel Romulan, Donata

Picard's new toy, the Argo vehicle

and it did has great battle scenes.

Please answer only if you have something good to say about Star Trek Nemesis. ;)

Dina Meyer.
There should have been less Shinzon and more Dina Meyer.
Seriously, I didn't hate Nemesis but it could have been better.
I liked the Remans well enough. They were certainly cooler looking then the Son'a.

There were some good things about Nemesis. I would add that the assassination of the Romulan Senate scene was awesome!

I agree. That really is a powerful opening scene.

The best thing about nemesis is that hey killed data and it put the final nail in the coffin on a part of the trek franchise that even the actors thought sucked.

I'll agree with you on the "dignity of Picard" issue.

But I can and will dispute the claim that TNG "was the best series that came out of Star Trek".

I feel, and I know many others do as well, that DS9 is the better series.

;)

I loved the Romulan senate scenes.

It's inarguable!!!! Any fool can see that ENT was the best. Please, the great Captain Archer deserves his own movie, much more than this JJ Abrams lunatic fest.

If Shinzon was a little more threatening maybe his character would had been more interesting, but I think he's okay,
they cut out alot of good scenes that would had made the movie even better like the one with the Deanna Troi's mild meld in the turbo lift.

I can't understand the issues people have with Nemisis either. It's certainly a big step up from Insurection.

Nemisis was a great way to end the TNG movie series imo, for a number of reasons.

1 - Picard destroyed the living crap out of the Enterprise.
2 - Picard had to face an alternative perspective of what he could have ended up if life was different.
3 - Having to face your total opposite would be a challenge for anybody.
4 - The death of Data..... or so they'd like everyone to believe.
5 - Finalizing Riker and Troi's relationship that I imagine everybody was wondering when it'd ever develop beyond awkward moments.

Honestly there were many good things about that movie and I put Nemisis right up there with First Contact, in fact I wished the other TNG movies followed First Contact and Nemesis's overall feel. Generations and Insurection just seemed like typical episodes.

Going back to the "death" of Data, I think a lot of people overlooked the reality of exactly how he "Died"

In the physical sense, yes, Data did die in the explosion..... but not before Geordi transfered all his memory files to B4. While B4 wasn't as advanced as Data and seemed pretty stupid, at the end as Picard was leaving after telling him the story of his brother, he began to sing what data sung earlier in the movie, finally showing a connection between B4 and what was transfered over from Data.

So in other words, Data backed himself up in B4.... so whether or not B4 eventually figures out how to access Data's information, or if Data's information is transfered to a new body..... I think Picard realized when he started singing that Data isn't really dead.

For me, I thought Nemesis was more in depth with the things that make one really think then most other ST movies and because of that, it gets brownie points.

Although I did wish that they would have left Riker clean shaven like he was in the previous movie.... the beard got a little old after a couple of seasons.

I agree about Data's memory files being transfered in B-4, it makes sense, I always hope they would had done a sequel to Nemesis, like they'd find Data's ¿body but his mind is stored in B-4 somehow.

P.S..Riker looks better with the beard, it's part of his character. :p

True about the beard, but he was still the same character before the beard.... I guess a little younger looking, but oh well.

Well I haven't been keeping up to date with all the recent ST details, but when Nemesis came out I remember some of the actors stating this would "probably" be the last movie for this crew mainly due to how it ended and the loss of one of the main characters (Data) ~ But I dunno..... The Kirk crew got like 6 movies under their belt before they stopped, while TNG only got 4.

If there is any sort of pattern to this, there just might be 2 more movies coming out for TNG, which would be just enough to bring Data back like they brought back Spock, and one more movie to really finalize it all.

But that's just my own view.... but considering they've already started with the new reality in the new movie, I suppose two more movies are out of the question.  :(

Data's death was not my problem with Nemesis, it was the suggestion that B4 may become Data therefore it renders his death meaningless. His death is not without value because he did save the ship, but it is hard to get emotional about a death of a main character in Star Trek if they're going to just bring him back again. With death having no permanence it becomes hollow.
