Andrew Robinson - The one where he's working with Dukat (I love that still of them standing beside eachother with phasers and Garak is smiling his creepy smile and Dukat looks like he's going to puke.

The episode yer referring to is "Way of the Warrior" from Season 4, where the Klingon empire decides to say screw the khitomer accord, the federation is now our enemy too. In any case, everything "Garak" is involved in is exquisite because Robinson has the same acting manner as John DeLancie ("Q"), which makes for merlin-esque dialogues.

Additionally, I loved Jeffery Combs (Weyoun) as he also made a few cameos in other episodes not as Weyoun. No one will make as many cameos as David Warner though (Chancellor Gorkon, Human Ambassador to Nimbus 3, etc.) who also had a great trek way about him.

Worst actors, I'd have to say the kid who played Jake, I also found Louise Fletcher very wooden, I'm not sure if that was intentional...
Back to good acting, since we're going all Trek in this thread, I want to nominate John Billingsly as Phlox... I thought everything, down to his mannerisms was so precise yet effortless, I was quite pleased with his work....

Andrew J. Robinson-a wonderful actor of wit.
Jeffrey Combs-a great overactor, but does it right.
Avery Brooks-a passionate man to watch
Patrick Stewart-a wonderful actor, brings such passion to the characters.
Colm Meaney-the everyday man with hints of all the good and bad of humanity played just right.
Whoopi Goldberg-not the greatest actress, but her portrayal of Guinan was done very well I think.
Mark Lenard-great depth to the man
William Shatner-another human guy with traits taken just a bit further.
Robert Picardo-a humorous but good actor
Casey Biggs-some reason reminds me of Russell Crow
John Billingsley-does the weird but open very well
Brent Spiner-a joy to watch
Karl Urban-liked him since LOTR
J.G. Hertzler-a fun guy to watch.

;) ?:p

worst

Garret Wang-boring
Nana Visitor-just not good
Anton Yelchin-I just don't like him to much, not even in Terminator Salvation, which was a better role for him.
Michelle Forbes-just didn't like the way she portrayed her characters, just no fun going on.
Ethan Phillips-just to annoying
Roxanne Dawson-good looking but not a very good actress IMO.

Never really thought of saying so but I'd have to agree with that assessment too.

Note: I don't hate any of these actors or characters, just commenting on their acting ability.

I don't think it matters, bud.

Many of your choices - in both sections - are suspect.

I'm glad you mentioned Connor Trineer - and you put it exactly as I would had I thought of it... You never think it's some guy ACTING as Trip, you just identify with his character so readily it's just obviously Trip. ¿I've seen him on Stargate Atlantis for the last three seasons and he's really good there too, and he plays a COMPLETELY different character and I still believe him wholeheartedly (he's a bad bad man)...

As much as I didn't like the character, I think the actor that played Neelix did it quite well...

Although I love DS9 heaps, I never found Terry Farrell believable as someone who could go off and fight with Klingons, and kind of boring in the Spockish persona she had in Season One. Apologies to Dax fans, but there you have it.

I don't think I ever specifically noted Terry as a bad actress, perhaps b/c I'm so fond of the character... I'm not sure, but I'm hearing that same sentiment from a lot of people.

Terry did a fantastic job juggling various character maintain with in the Jadzia symbiot.

Very, very underrated actress and played the role perfectly.

See, I feel that too... I couldn't see someone else being Jadzia, but a lot of people seem to dislike her acting...

Again, I've only watched the series right thru once, so it'd be hard for me to say, the more obvious crap was from Visitor and Brooks... so it was hard to notice poor acting on her part.

farrell was not nearly as bad as visator.

Farrell gave her character alot of credibility.

Playing several roles at once each their own distinct personality, was greatly expressed in Jadzia's different relationship with each of the crew members (e.g. mentor to Sisko, pseudo sister to Kira, playful rival to Quark, object of unrequited affection/ high school crush to Bashir, officer to Odo, fellow soldier to O'Brien, klingon warrior/wife to Worf.

She was very underrated and made her character come to life.
