Ok, you say this allot. What the heck does that mean? Is that the opposite of "Hater-Aid"?

It's based on the Jonestown mass suicide. Jim Jones convinced over nine hundred people to kill themselves in a mass protest. | Quote | | In November of 1978, he ordered the residents to commit suicide by drinking a flavored beverage laced with potassium cyanide. Those unable to comply, such as infants, and those unwilling to comply received involuntary injections. Over nine hundred died. |
AND THEY DID IT! Drinking the Kool-Aid is the unwavering support of something even if you know there are flaws. As far as Voyager I see it through rose coloured glasses, and it's hard for me to be objective. Sort of a gory analogy, but sums it up for me.

The thing is, he did make a suggestion when asked what tribe Chakotay should be. TPTB decided that didn't quite mesh with their view of Tribe Hollywood (flute music, etc, etc, etc), so they paid him no mind.

Really? I'm kind of intrigued, because in TOS Spock is my favourite character (and I realise that he is only half Vulcan), but I just can't take to Tuvok...yet.
What is it about him that makes him your favourite character (if you can possibly answer that without giving me too many spoilers) |
I liked Tuvok's strength and sense of humor, and he was the only one Janeway could count on. And I love that he hated Neelix...even strangled a holo version of the little rodent. Yes, Tuvok had liked Neelix once, but he had to lose 100 IQ points to do so. I also enjoyed his interaction with 7. They would have made a great couple...well, not better than the Doctor and she would have. Plus he bakes cakes And the mother####er could dance! (You'll see this in one of the final episodes).

you're right about that. i forgot about that. i'm guessing after TPTB disregarded his suggestion early on, he may have given up on suggesting anything else.

I see I may be able to find some common ground with Tuvok after all!

I find it hard to believe that as yet only one person has voted for 7 of 9, she is my second favourite character I think after Chakotay. She is funny and she has something of the non-emotional alien stereo-type that we love in many ways. The show vastly improved when she came on it in my opinion.

Yes that is odd. She's the most interesting character for sure, and portrayed by a great actress.

That would be me. It's not surprising, however. It's dangerous to declare that Seven is your favorite character. It invites the rantings of the Kes fans and J/Cers.

its not that liking seven means you dislike Kes though..... just that you prefer 7. She is a character who could go a lot further
