"Do what feels right"

Well in Nero's situation, the thing to do what feels right is to travel back a short time and either warn someone about Romulus or try to prevent it's destruction, if possible, if not, then evacuate the whole planet and movie everyone all to a different planet

I apologize for being a troll as Narada said.  This is the same reaction I got after my first thread on this forum several months ago.  People accused me of fabricating negative reviews and then claiming they were deleted in order to make a false case for astroturfing pre-release.  After that incident I announced that I would stop posting here since there was apparently something wrong with me given the overwhelming negative sentiment.  After seeing the movie for the first time several months later I decided to post about some important issues, but I am being labeled again.

I will leave for good this time.  I'm sorry for pestering you guys.

It all comes down to how one chooses to define "right".

Again I am not meaning to make you feel unwelcome. Please understand we are discussing the issue you brought up but not anything else. I am not wanting anyone to feel their view does not matter. I only felt strongly because your conclusion is that Spock was advocating the own murder of his planet and I do not agree. I hope you are feeling welcome and I am sorry if I made you feel otherwise.

Nero felt that destroying Vulcan was right. ¿He is justified according to Spock prime.

No.

Just because it feels right does not meen its justified.

Yes he told he younger self to follow his feelings.

But Spock prime knew what those feeling were and that they werent wrong.

Neros's feeling's may have been warented but what he chose to do with his feelings was inappropriate.

That's a valid argument. ¿Although I would argue that it's dangerous to employ different methodologies to different situations. ¿That usually leads to squishy reasoning where you can justify anything without regard to a set of firm principles. ¿For that reason I am uncomfortable with Spock prime's statement.

And I would say its even more dangerous to employ the same methodologies to every situation.

And its also illogical to treat every situation the same.

Young Spock was mentally unstable after the destruction of his home planet. ¿In fact, young Spock admitted to having uncontrollable anger for the one who killed his mother. ¿Spock prime's advice seems to have no regard for mental stability since he is advising some one with uncontrollable anger.

Actually the way I see it Spock primes advice was an attempt to help young Spock.

Old Spock, knowing himself quite well, considered what his life may have been without Star Fleet or Kirk's friendship.

Maybe he felt that if Young Spock was the ever over come his issue with anger he could only do so at Kirks side.

So I would Spock prime's advice seems to have great regard for mental well being of his younger self.
