I suppose there were a lot of indirect mentions of Holosuite programmes in DS9 (Jake and Sisko's baseball stuff... Alamo, Vikings, Thermopylae, Battle of Britain... Various sex programmes... Camelot.) and some shorter holosuite scenes like Dax's Trill massage thingy that she convinced Kira into going to, and the Klingon exercise caves, and Quark's SPECTACULAR fail at getting a Kira-sex holocharacter for Tiron in "Meridian".
But Voyager and TNG easily compare with DS9 as far as hologram stories go. And anyhow, those stories are fun (for the most part.)
I'm curious Driver if TNG is #3fave then what is #2?

DS9 and TOS are pretty much tied in my book. You see, I got into Trek in the early 80s with the films and syndicated TOS. I read the Pocket books, the DC comics, and even messed around with the old FASA roleplaying game. I absolutely dig the original crew and the sexy, creepy-cool vibe of the original show. And Kirk? He will ALWAYS be my favorite Trek character. But... As I've admitted on various threads, I believe DS9 is arguably the highest-quality and best produced Trek series. So more often than not, I tend to vote for DS9 in these polls. TNG? Well, sometimes I thought it was a really great program. But usually, it tended to be a Star Trek series that was too left-leaning, pretentious, dry, and cerebral for my tastes. And I never felt any real chemistry between the members of the crew. Patrick Stewart as Picard was awesome. I always got a kick out of Forbes' Ro. And there were times when Sirtis looked unbelievably gorgeous. But overall, I think TNG and its cast were just ... OK. VOY and ENT were barely OK.

You know Driver, although I continue to rate it #2 behind the original Trek, I've been starting to agree more and more on what you say about TNG. I still love it, it has some great sci-fi stories, but more and more as I've watched it I've noticed inconsistent quality throughout (there's Best of Both Worlds, and then there's Justice... there's Chain of Command, and then there's episodes about Lwaxana Troi). Stewart is a fantastic actor, but when the show gets preachy it feels too pretentious, like there's no internal conflict and the characters are just to sure of their own moral judgment. I suppose that fits in with Roddenberry's vision, but DS9's characters feel more "real" to me than most of TNG's characters and give you some stuff to really think about.
I still haven't seen every single episode of DS9, it could probably end up moving above TNG for me. I like Voyager and Enterprise as well, and the animated series is all fun.

TNG and TOS. Earlier Voyager, later DS9 (before Jadzia dies) idk about Enterprise. (so much non-canon and I hear the last ep was a fail)
*just a thought* Brent Spiner or Patrick Stewart could have played a Wesley-character on TOS, that would have been interesting... but I guess that would be Checkov.

I guess TNG more than anything is the one that first got me into Trek, mostly because of the intriguing twists in some of the stories. But DS9 is the one that I REALLY got into all by my ownesome. (Without any influence from any other people and all that.)
And I do also like how it (DS9) tends to present issues a lot without necessarily providing answers. There's an awful lot to think about there.
But the outbreak of the Dominion War would not have been half as effective, in my personal humble opinion, without the lengthy build-up that happened before hand, and without all the extreme efforts that the Federation goes to in order to prevent going to war.

I have watched all or most of all five series, and I prefer Enterprise. It is the series that seems most realistic to me, passion and pathos, exploration and empathy, mistakes and missions, retribution and redemption. Characters in this series are so like the people who fill the realms of my life, my soul, my love, and I can see myself there in a heartbeat. This is why Enterprise is so compelling to me. Would there were more episodes for me to enjoy. Not TATV, though!!!! That one must be purged and the storyline picked up from Demons/Terra Prime.

Voyager/Enterprise/TOS/TNG/DS9. My first love in time(No 3)may be that now, but, the top three is hardly bad...

TNG/VOY cant really decide :) I hated DS9 at first, but began to like it as the series went on (although Bashir and Sisko annoy me a little bit).
TOS was the first so respect to that.
ENT complete fail :(
