The Federation Council sent Manticore to the quiet planet of Oppo, to see why it has gone silent and is no longer registering life signs from sensor sweeps of the sector.  Our sweeps from orbit confirm that there are no lifesigns on a planet that should have billions.  A landing party has been taken captive by 9 foot humanoid robots and have been separated into a group for data storage and a group for "the farm," as they have been told by a voice only identifying itself as the "Network."  The Manticore is analyzing one of the satellites they disabled, since it is barely registering on ship's scanners, whern it can plainly be seen.

The USS Manticore is an advanced simulation sponsored by the Star Trek Simulation Forum. Although play is restricted to pre-assigned crew members who have graduated from Starfleet Academy, all are welcome to come watch. The game begins at 10 pm ET Monday nights in the Manticore chat area accessible at www.stsf.net directly or through links here at startrek.com.
A Starfleet Academy open to all interested participants is being held at 10 pm ET Monday evening in the Holodeck chat area at www.stsf.net. There are no membership requirements to play and everyone is encouraged to participate.
