I agree; the background information in Full Circle was necessary, and Beyer handled the huge event of Admiral Janeway's death very realistically.  It was well written, and it had a number of surprises.  But, I was glad when they finally launched the fleet! In Unworthy, I like Chakotay's quote of George Bernard Shaw: "'The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends upon the unreasonable man.'"

Also, it occurred to me that Admiral Batiste might have had a role in Janeway's death, or perhaps in putting her in that situation.  He really wanted to lead an expedition to the Delta Quadrant, and she had said they would only go back there over her dead body.  I don't think it was actually said in the book (I'm almost finished reading it).  What do you think?

I hadn't considered that and it is an excellent hypothesis, but if you read Before Dishonor, Janeway was clearly headstrong and felt indestructable which is why she boarded the borg cube, the female Q said as much.Batiste clearly had been planning that mission and his return to fluidic space for a long time.

Agreed. Kirsten did a great job with Full Circle and Unworthy and I can't wait to read her next one called "Children of the Storm". I might be wrong but I have a feeling the story is going to be about a race that kicked the crap out of the Borg and we "saw" briefly in Destiny Book 2, chapter 10.

Earthling! I grow weary from the chase. Wait for me! I shall be merciful, and quick!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Voyager novels, and am excited about the next.
