Perhaps the Borg should be the villians for the next movie

It would be an exciting and fun action movie and it would easily do well at the box office

Perhaps a large fleet of Borg cubes somehow get transported over to the alpha quadrant from the delta quadrant and go on a mission to assimilate all races in the entire sector. After failing to reason with the Borg, the Federation are forced to make alliances with enemy races like the Klingons and the Romulans and go into epic war against the Borg.

But should one of the TOS characters get assimilated? Kirk? Spock?

No!!!!!!!!!!! a thousand times NO!!!

The TNG movies and series have really demonstrated that the Borg can easily be defeated.

Personally I am tired of them.

Most certainly not. That would be worse than Chekov's birthdate. New timeline or not the borg will not be discovered at least as they are known as borg for another 109 years after Trek 11. There is nothing about Nero's incursion that should lead to the Borg being discovered earlier than before. Same with the Q. I doubt as if Q will take an interest in humanity and appear any earlier than before.

Don't get me wrong I still think the Borg can be a great threat. They are just one assimilation away at all times from gaining that all powerful weapon or some other tech that could destroy the Federation.

I still think that if a future tv series set in the 25th century ever takes place the Borg can get some true finality to them. After all Seven did say there are 6 transwarp hubs. 5 still out there and I really doubt as if the entire collective went down from Janeway's pathogen. That one sphere assimilated it after just minutes.

What if, in this universe, the Borg that came from the future (First Contact) and were found on Antarctica, started to assimilate people, and a whole new civilization of Borg would come about. And, of course, Kirk would fight them off. He'd ruin them before they could become too powerful, but it's still possible for the D to find them from another art of the galaxy in 100 years.

Didn't say it was a good idea, just possible. zor a good idea for a 2-parter if they decide to make a series out of it.

Agreed, about what the borg have become.

Voyager, especially, really over did the borg to the point where they lost their scary/unstoppableness :(

The Borg just aren't that interesting.

And we already had a (rather good) Borg film. So why do we need another?
