My cable company offers an "On Demand" feature where you could go in and order various TV shows and movies and stuff.

If your cable company has this feature and were to offer Star Trek On Demand (all 5 series, and all movies), would you use it?

I have some DVD's, mainly DS9, and I would use this feature. I might be willing to pay a small fee to watch my fave episodes.

Yes, I'm dying to watch DS9, but I'm too cheap to rent or buy the dvds.

Time to get a sugar daddy... :)

I was thinking that too but I don't know anyone and have no opportunities to meet anyone

I don't know if there's an American equivalent, but the postoffices in New Zealand have something called a "prezzy card" which is part way between a Visa card and a voucher. It works like a credit card but the only difference is you buy it from the post shop and it has a set (limited) amount of money on it. I can't get a credit card either -- because all the banks are class-snobs -- so that's what I use. Might be worth a check to see if there is something similar?

Unless as jg mentioned you would have some means to tape them all as you go. *Although I never found a means to tape Sky -- translation: digital TV. We have Sky in New Zealand like some Americans have cable I guess.*

You sound like my daughter-I mean taping them with a good ol' fashioned VCR

So did I actually. I tried to tape with a VCR and it didn't work. Mostly because Digital runs off a different system or something and you have to get My Sky or something fancy like that. Network TV (about 4 channels now. Used to be 2.) is possible to tape but not Sky. And the "bunny ears" reception is generally pretty bad so it's touch and go whether anything shows. Better luck with UHF, (roof aerials) methinks.

Well, if you can get a debit card, I believe that you can double one of those as a credit card, I've done that, and that works.

Problem is-my sister has her name with mine on the checking account(my soon to be ex-husband completely destroyed our finances) and does the bills and stuff for me until I find a job.
