Yes this high resolution image looks very good. There are people who are not liking the design but I very much like it. And for those of you with dislike for Enterprise new movie design take this for consideration. It could be very much worse!

If you look at it from that angel the Nacells don't look like the are too close together.

How the ship should have looked in STXI...

:logical:

True enough,

Even though some like the design more than you and I.

It's still a nice rendering even if it is kind of

One of the very few shots that was able to at least evoke a "Trek-like" feeling from me. Well done ILM.

I think even with a CGI update the old style 1701 wouldn't look like a movie quality designed ship.

Those pics are great, but why would they give us the exact same ship? Trek now has the modern look so many wanted.

And looking at the scale (using windows etc) makes the size of Enterprise look more realistic, at least we know there's enough space on the inside to fit everything in now.

No matter how you dress a pig up, it's still a pig...

:logical:

As evidenced by the remastered TOS episodes.

Sure it would.

Why wouldn't it?

If it was rendered by ILM using up to date CGI and taking advantage of being able to add more detailing to the ship, why wouldn't it be "movie quality"?

:logical:

I do think they could have made the old design to where it would have been movie quality.

But that design would not have fit with the rest of the design aesthetics. This new Enterprise fit with the new design of the bridge and all other interior designs.

I for one am glad they changed the design. I didn't want to see an old 1960s design. I wanted to look at something new and the eye candy in this movie was the best Star Trek ever offered in a movie.

I do not call it eye candy but I know they are meaning to say visuals. At first I did not like the new Enterprise design but now I very much like it. It is good for a new design and they must differentiate from before especially since there are new changes overall.

Very nicely done...

But it would be nice for a change if SOMEONE could make phasers
firing from their actual phaser arrays, as originally designed higher
up in the saucer above teh sensor dome, as opposed to firing from
the Ventral Sensor array

That's awesome, possibly from Errand of Mercy the new Blu-Ray FX are stunning, but I'm still glad we got a new ship for XI, not only is the design (arguably) more futuristic, but also more realistic size wise, it also connects to the plot as Starfleet have adapted tech from the Narada and redesigned Starships with the threat in mind.
