It's a very lucky, lucky ship. |
Ok if we're playing that now, then how about USS Daddy Cool - we're just crazy about the way they move.

Thought Zero was after Aussie names, and incidentally, isn't naming ships after racial groups generally not a good idea? Shorten Tasman Sea to Tasman - that might be all right. After Abel Tasman. USS Ballarat USS Eureka USS Strezlecki (ican'spell) USS Banksia

Ian Thorpe??????? ?WTF? facepalm WhyTF Ian Thorpe? ¿He is a swimmer, has done nothing for the good of the country or the world in general. ¿If it has to be a person, then why not the USS Fred Hollows. Maoris are native people of NZ not Australia. BTW

That's "Uluru" now. But you could possibly go for "Ayer" -- who was once, however briefly, the eponymous explorer for that rock. And I do believe the name "Lake Ayer" is still used somewhat. Wouldn't you consider more with naming ships after people that their family might object? Although as for being as "above reproach as possible", I don't think anyone ever reaches that point.

We don't call it that anymore.
And apart from USS Eagle, no ships have been named after animals.
Would you serve on USS Beaver? |
Darwin served on the "Beagle" -- so why not the "Beaver" as well?
