I don't understand why people always say things like, "That is just some guy in a rubber suit."  or "These effects are cheesy".  It was over 40 years ago, Mr. Roddenberry was telling stories, not trying to impress people 40 years later.  Watch the epsoids for the story, not the special effects.  I am sure in 40 years people will be making fun of movies like the "Matrix" or "X-men".

I'm not sure what you're talking about.

What people are calling the effects cheesy?

BTW, I think you posted this topic in the wrong forum.
This is the Voyager forum, not the one for questions about TOS.

It's just an excuse.  When you have nothing else to complain about, you mock whatever you can.

You answered your own question but you didn't know it.

40 years ago was a totally different generation.
Today's generation watching Trek or whatever, grew up with ILM & CGI graphics.  They know nothing of how special effects were before that period, so guys walking around in rubber suits look dumb and cheesy to them.

It's why J.J. Abram made "Cloverfield", because nobody in todays age would accept the classic Godzilla(guy in a rubber suit) as real or believable.

This is what's called a "Generation Gap".

OST is Original Soundtrack. TOS is The Original Series. Gets confusing when you bring up the TOS OST.
