So, what now... farewell book continuity? Since the DS9 relaunch started the TREK books have been better than anything offered on both the small and the big screen. Does the leave of the editor now mean, that the authors will once again start working on their own stories, and returning ship and crew to status quo at the end of each book? if so.... it is a shame. The inter-series continuity has been great. I do not want to see this go.

| Quote (TrekWriterKC @ Sep. 01 2009, 9:45 pm) | The print could be bigger, which would make the book bigger. If you don't mind paying 15-16 bucks for a trade edition, I'd certainly be down with that. |
Erm... forget I said anything!

The editors still there have all edited Trek to one degree or another over the years. While they doubtless will have their own ideas about what to bring to the fiction mix, it's unlikely that they'd jettison everything that's come before. Regardless, the authors won't simply be free to just do whatever they want. In addition to the editors, CBS still approves everything at outline and manuscript stage. In other words....relax. Breathe regular.

Thanks for explaining. With the intense jump in quality story- and interbook-connection-wise in recent years, I would really miss the continuing plots etc.
