Well you are correct. ?Spock had an emotional side and it showed several times. ?Which is why I don't get some people who proclaim to be the authority figure on all things Star Trek yet proclaim that Spock is "too emotional" in the new film.

Yeah. Being an authority figure on all things StarTrek would be really..... time consuming. Where I'm being surprised is that lots of the people who are indeed quite well versed in all things StarTrek seem to be missing/disagree/forgetting its heart. Equality, peace, tolerance, infinite diversity. I do wonder what is motivating the 'stands', the digging in of heels.

I mean, my values were inspired by this valiant science fiction tv show, then shows, then movies. I am bonded to the principles. Just not the details. It keeps surprising me, often saddening me greatly, that there is sooooo much controversy around details. I mean, aren't these arguments missing the point, the point being the principles, the principles being: equality, peace, tolerance, infinite diversity... which ((( I ))) would assume also meant diversity of thought?

The detail differences are deeply shaking some people. My time in the world has led me to the perception that this much agony over so small a thing has little to do with the thing itself. That the agony expressed about StarTrek details is perhaps just one way of expressing the agony of their lives, that they find unbearable to look at, or find no answers for.

Oh my. What a sad thought. Now I'm depressed.

Yes sometimes I think this forum is like a test to demonstrate how well you understand Trek and take it to heart and many people are failing miserably.

I shall be kinder to these people. Yes. That's what I will do.

RIGHT! I can see that!

So are they 'competing' AGAINST each other, to see who is the 'best', the 'best' being the winner, and being the winner is what they want/desire/need to make their lives have.... I dunno... meaning? And in this competition you and I think they are missing the heart and therefore failing.

Hey. You're the first person to alert me that this might be a test! This makes a lot of sense, Narada.

Yes not an official test of course but one thing I learn from Star Trek is being tolerant of others and their differences like in your signature. Some people are competing against each other but sometimes they are trying to express feelings they have which may even be negative in nature. It is true some people are making this a real challenge but I try and remember everyone is important with their own ideas even if I do not share in their point of views. Extending to patience for those who do not share in this feeling is also hard but I must remember there will be no reward but the act itself may be its own reward.

Whoa! This might be equated to DS9:Run Along Home.

Some players fear this to be of deadly importance, others recognize it to be enjoyed.

Thank you very much you inspire me also and I am thankful we are all here together to share ideas in the forum. I understand your example of "Move Along Home" and yes there are many games and life is not fair but we can help bring about more balance and fairness.

I will be interested to see if there is development with the Vulcan survivors in the next movie and if there will be any involvement with the plot. They can use the destruction of Vulcan for another alien race to attack and take advantage of this loss while Starfleet can defend. I wonder if this will be done or maybe they will only mention them as refugees who are rebuilding to survive.

I will ask a question. What do you think this could mean for next movie or how it will be used in the story?
