you have the basis for an excellent CD collection. one of my fav bands, if not favorite overall. up until the last 10 years they were a very underrated band. surprisingly, i'm surprised that so many sci-fi fans aren't into synth-based music more. other than you, a best friend of mine, and myself just about every sci-fi fan i know is more into hard rock/heavy metal. i really i'm over-generalizing but that's b/c that's been based on my experience.

Look for other things to entertain you, that's all. Perhaps there are some books that you would like to read with characters similar to Kes? I actually found a romance novel where the characters were similar to Voyagers. Since it was a romance novel the Captain and the former enemy, now first officer actually got together! I enjoyed BSG also. I know you don't like that series but it's fall, perhaps a new series this season will catch your interest. There's always something else to look forward too.
I know you don't like the Admiral, but you should take a look and consider some of the things he's written, even if you don't want to give him the satisfaction of saying you did! ? |
You don't think that I would take any advice from someone who has insulted me in the worst possible ways for two years, do you?
As for books and other entertainment, I've read a lot of books but don't found any characters similar to Kes yet.
And yes, I do watch some series occasionally and there are one or two I really like. But I try not to be that involved or interested in them because I guess that they will be screwed up or closed down by "people in suits" sooner or later.
Just look what happened to "Without A Trace" and "Stargate Atlantis" |
That's right, they will. All good things must come to an end, right? And then you move on to the next. Sometimes there's a lull, but eventually the next thing will come along. ?That's part of life. |
Nothing to move on to but commercialized crap, full of stereotypes and imbecile statements.
This is really the "Dark Ages". |
Everyone else has moved on to other ares of intererst, what's your problem? |
Have they? ?
Then why are they still here, posting about a series which ended 8 years ago?
That's not "moving on to other areas of interest". |
We're here because we share a common bond the in the fact we all like the same show. ?It's called a hobby. Nobody here is on a crusade to change the past. |
How fun! I had a hobby once too. It was called Star Trek Voyager! Now I prefer to watch NCIS. They haven't ruined that one yet. I'm not that fond of Depeche Mode. I prefer Iron Maiden. As for the ongoing debate: "Don't get too lost in all I say Though at the time I really felt that way But that was then, now it's today; I can't get off so I'm here to stay Till someone comes along and takes my place With a different name and, yes, a different face You feelin' alright? I'm not feelin' too good myself Well, you feelin' alright? I'm not feelin' too good myself" "Feelin' Alright" Black Crowes, Joe ####er, Traffic, Grand Funk Railroad and many more

Never been a fan of Iron Maiden. Honestly, I don't see the big deal. I prefer the Rolling Stones. "And I went down to the demonstration To get my fair share of abuse Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration If we don't we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse" "No, you can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want And if you try sometime you find You get what you need." Give Voyager a rest and find a NCIS board, it might do you a world of good.

Don't like synth, don't like heavy metal. I listen to jazz. Just another thing for the board to hold against me.

I like synth-based music. I just didn't know that's what it was called! My favorite is still dance. My favorite song out right how is Hush Hush, by the ##### Cat Dolls, the dance version, of course! Hush HushI've never claimed to be a typical Trekkie anyway.

well, there's several different types of synth-based music. it ranges from gothic to dark wave to synth-pop to new age. i just made a huge generalization to mean any music whose lead instrumentation is the synth/sampler.

Well I have read Unworthy. I think it had a much better ending than Full Circle did. I was glad to see Chakotay become Captain again. Also Seven of Nine was added to Voyager's roster, B'lenna reunited with Neelix in the DQ which proved to be great. It was so good that Tom and B'lenna became united and she is now living on Voyager with Miral also. It was sad though that Harry didn't seem as welcoming to both of them because he was hurt that Tom didn't tell him about their deaths since he thought he was family. I hope Harry doesn't transfer! Harry seemed the most affected by their return. Also Species 8472 came back, and the Doctor was given a bigger role in the book, bigger than the other relaunch novels. It was great to see Lt. Barclay added to the crew of the Galant.

i liked voyager when i started watching it as a kid i liked the way the characters interacted with each other and i thought that most of the episodes were great but as the books go after the return of voyager to the alpha quadrant i don not like the direction they are taking the ship i understand Adm. janeways promotion and chakoteys posting as captain of the luckiest ship in the trek universe but what the did by killing janeway off was a mistake because the only direction they could go with chakotey was to put him on self distructive path but not in the way that it was done and as for the only remaining crew being paris and kim i think it is a mistake for them to take an outsider and make them captain
