Although overall I do like the scene with Prime Spock speaking to his younger self, I thought that if Prime Spock had a scene with his father instead that would have given him a chance to say the things he wanted to that he never had the chance to.

I think that could have been an emotional moment.

Brilliant !!!!!

If that coulda happened I would remember it to my dieing day. "My" precious Spock (prime) has suffered so throughout my decades with him. (I was there the first night of the first series). I suffered right along with him.

Ohhhh, Satern. How very brilliant! I would have given my neighbor's first born child to have reduced Spock PRIME's suffering. (ooooooo I like saying that... Spock PRIME. When I'm saying that ...Spock PRIME... it feels deep in me that I'm saying something more. Much more. Oh my stars! When-I-am-saying-it-and-thinking-it-...-it-feels-like-My-Precious-Spock-PRIME-is-now-a .... ta tatada Daaaa! A saint)

Satern, Satern, Satern, I am thrilllllllllllled. If you had not started this thread, if you had not purposed the sci-fi "What if..." I possibly would never have thought this thought, or gone this deep with it, or felt this amazingly profound feeling. (okay okay I know these characters aren't real BUT I DON'T CARE :grr: I HEART them. Especially Spock PRIME)

Ohhhh, Saturn! Make this happen! Before Nemoy leaves us for good! Send this in to the movie makers. For space' sake GO WORK AS A WRITER ON THE NEXT MOVIE. Time's running out. Bones is now 'gone'. Scotty is now 'gone'. Make this happen, Saturn, before we lose Nemoy for all time!

Only thing is, the Sarek of the new timeline...

It's weird.

In a way, Sarek IS the same person...he of course lived before the timeline divergence, and Spock himself was born just prior to the divergence, unlike Kirk of the new timeline who was born after. Nu Spock, just like Sarek, are essentially duplicates of their Prime versions, created when the timeline split.

But then, in the years since 2233, it seems Nu Sarek is slightly more "Vulcan" than the Sarek we knew, and of course, Spock Prime has had a somewhat different life than what Nu Spock will. He IS Spock's father, but he is no longer Spock Prime's father in this timeline.

Spock could have talked to Sarek, yes, and Sarek would have understood if Spock had told the whole time travel/new timeline business, but I don't think he'd really be able to relate to Spock Prime as well as he would his actual son in that timeline.

:logical:

ALSO Brilliant !!

Who ARE you guys!

I ENVY the workings of your minds.
