In the Star Trek universe, April 5th 2063 is the exact date when Zefram Cochrane flew the Phoenix out into space and achieved warp drive and made first contact with aliens (the vulcans)
I doubt warp drive will be achieved by then but what will happen on that day 54 years from now?
Will there be some sort of very special celebration held for Star Trek?
Will there be a real 20 metre tall marble statue built of James Cromwell as Zefram Cochrane, with his hand reaching out towards the future?
Will you still be alive then? How old will you be?

2063 doesn't seem that far off; I'll only be 80 years old by then. But if warp drive doesn't lift off (sorry for the pun), then it's back to work as usual. I'll just be glad if we land on Mars by 2050...

I'll be 90! Hopefully, we will be closer to space travel by then, than we are now. We've been stuck in the mud for 40 years. I cannot believe we have not put a man or woman on Mars yet.

I'll be 96, and will have long since passed into a far greater melding and understanding with the cosmos and Warp drive will be irrelevant. I will know all that everyone else doesnt, and have answers to questions about existence that we all thought would ever remain as mysteries

I'll be 75 by then and if WWIII hasn't occurred yet hopefully we have a mars base by then. I'm not hoping for any serious breakthroughs in space technology.

Agreed. I seriously doubt that we will have ventured any farther than our own solar system. However, I hold out hope that SETI will have achieved success by then. Now that would be cool!

warp drive is impossible because we lack a energy source to power such a thing. Some physicist said we would need the mass of jupiter to power a warp drive and there's the concern if we fold space we could create a black hole.

Hey, so would I. I hope I see you then. Live long & prosper. It will actually be a month before my 100th birthday. I'll be sitting in my electronic rocking chair, watching a news break of the event. I'll probably say, " We made First Contact?" And then keel over & die.
