Our NHS may be in the red but it's no worse than many businesses including the banks that have gone to the wall. I would rather pay into it than let someone who has no money die because they have no health insurance. |
Actually Labour was against the NHS. Churchill came up with the idea himself in the 30s. Labour dismissed it as a right-wing plot. After Beveridge released his report all three major parties said they would implement it. |

Vehicular deaths by nation.US is numbah one! Yay. I bet that has nothing to do with our life expectancy though. Actually, with the way Canadians drive, I am shocked, shocked they aren't.

Perhaps in remoter locations, Canada has less busy roads. That might also be a contributing factor. |

You know, I was just thinking that if it was possible to make an OS that was semi-virus proofthe NSA would have made one. I recall using Windows when I was intelligence. They were about to change to Vista.

Oh awright. I'm out of theories. Used to make me laugh (probably shouldn't have done, but it did) when people were talking about the state-by-state road toll in Australia, and about how it was rising. And there was always one person saying, "We've got to do better." |

But if you look at the nations ahead of us, they spend less, live longer and have a better quality of life. Oh, yeah, and they don't get sent to the poorhouse if they do have a medical emergency in the family. |
