Hello!

This is especially for those of you who dislike STAR TREK XI.

When you saw the new version of the Enterprise in that movie, did it bring to mind what a drunken Klingon said in the TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles"?

"I am not saying that the Enterprise should be hauling garbage. I am saying that the Enterprise should be hauled away AS garbage!"

Yeah had to think about that.

But IMO the design and the recast are the least bothering aspects of the film (in fact they worked pretty well).

Not the thing they bothered to call screenplay... that's a whole different story.

The best way to look at why the ship looks snazzier than the 60's model is this....The Kelvin was wiped out in just a few minutes by a foe that literally came out of nowhere.  Starfleet would have incorporated everything new they could get their hands on to include in their newest ships.  This may have required minor changes in the ship's actual design style.

The new Enterprise is a beautiful ship.

Said that months ago when the first pics of the ship were released, kanig. Had a pic captioned with Korax saying that, and under it was a pic of Scotty saying "Laddie, that's the smartest thing you've said all day...let me buy you a drink!"

:logical:

Even as bad as it is, I wouldn't go that far. After all it does look like a 24th or 35th century Enterprise.

I only refer to that bucket of bolts as a garbage scow or the USS Tonka Truck.

To me, the ship looked like a Prototype of the Enterprise.  TOS's looked better, but the re-defined versions looked better than that.

It is an O.K. ship from some angles, but from other perspective points it is dreadfull, some elements are lifted from the Enterprise refit of ST:TMP and some realy did not make a great deal of sense - Abrams wanted the ship to look like a Hot Rod so we got those bizzare Engines.
I suppose it would be an O.K. desighn concept but vessels like that would not be very likely put into service but remain on the drawing board.

It is the least attractive ship in the fleet(s) to have the Enterprise name and we are stuck with it.

I'm one of the 'poor, misled ones' LOL who do like it, but, eh...I'm a Voyager and Enterprise fan, so, I'm used to being on the outside looking in...A lot of folks praise the Gabriel Koerner version, and he's certainly a very talented young man in creating his vision. But, just because I've accepted the Abrams Enterprise, doesn't mean the Jeffriesprise is not THE iconic ship. OF COURSE I LOVE HER.  I just wish my model of her were in better shape. Sorry, Scotty....

The design pass even if it does look (Hot Rod) I can live with that.
The enterprise had practicly alwayse been considered a charactor, Kirk alwayse call it (SHE)
Scotty got in a fight with Klingons over it being called a garbage scow.

What I find in Star Trek XI is the Enterprise is just an other Ship, we do not see what she is capable of, the feats she can accomplish with the right commander abord, for me all these little elements is what makes a ship what outstandind.

At first I wasn't cazy about the HUGE nacelles but I started to get over it. One thing I did find cool was at the end, when they show the ship passing by before going into warp, you saw certain parts of the deflector dish opening up. Overall I find the ship okay to look at. Still love both the original design and the refit design.

What i cannot get over is how the engine room looked to old fashioned and did not match the rest of the overall ship.from the outside i loved the new design.she looked liked she could kick ass while still be very gracefull.i bet they change her for the next movie peobably by battle damage cause they know about all the negative remarks about her !

The overide,were's the overide !

I've said it once, I've said it a million times: "That THING is NOT the Enterprise! That THING looks like a tapered piece of Klingon shit that a Romulan threw up on!" and you can quote me on that too! now if JJ and Co. used my design, there would be more Trek fans clamoring for a new movie, as most remember the OS ship, and the OFS refit look. Well, My Enterprise's design is a combo of both, with the deflector dish from the new movie added in for good measure; to complete the look....

Hell, if Gene Roddenberry were alive, I'd think even He would agree with me on the look of the JJPrise. The JJPrise is what happens when too many Starfleet Engineers get drunk on Romulan Ale, then party with too many Orion Slave Girls, and not remember knocking them up....

What else should the ENTERPRISE look like,
with a 20 year old captain, at the helm?
A hot-rod! Since it's a government ship,
there's no way it would've had flames painted
on it, but I actually would've been smiling,
at that! I wanted more racing stripes, personally.
The ENTERPRISE has been in a couple of states, so far:
Cheezy plastic ... Art Deco beautiful ... now, the ship
looks like something you'd cruise in to pick up chicks!
I think it's cool, they just could've gone further with
making it look like a tasty ride ...
