Yeah, like those polls aren't fixed. :eyesroll:

Well, those from Trek-specialized sites may be biased. It is those from independent sites that would be more fair and impartial.

Again... just numbers. It's for the people who do not have real friends to talk about it.

:logical:

Numbers show you nothing, but what you want to see... a little more critical ?and demographic analysis and you would find out who is behind that numbers. But I guess that's just too much work.

And again... maybe some gushers simply voted multiple times to boost the rating.

Actually, at least in the case of TrekBBS, TrekMovie (and seemingly TrekWeb,) you can't.  TrekBBS is a heavily moderated forum and they don't tolerate multiple accounts.  TrekMovie's polls allow one vote per IP Address, per poll.  Just tried a spare vote on TrekWeb, it didn't change the results since I had voted there before.

Or maybe you should go out and ask people how they liked it.

For someone like me, the applause the film got in the filled-to-capacity IMAX was all the "Street Polling" on the opening Saturday Night I needed right then, something I can honestly say I hadn't experienced in a long time!  However, I am not saying a "non-applause" means the opposite, when it usually doesn't, but I can't imagine everyone applauding for a film they didn't like.

Like Rotten Tomatoes perhaps, which rates the film in the high 90s percent positive.  And those ratings come from industry pros who know of what they speak.

Bringing your family along to applaud the movie doesn't count.

So the amateur fans are wrong, the professional critics are wrong, and the industry insiders are wrong.  What group is left, the lunatic fringe?
