If your American, would you celebrate a Muslim holiday if it was made national?  It is possible that it could happen as Muslim religion is as American as Christian religion in that they are both excepted equally and respected equally in our constitution and government.  Could you be patriotic enough to truly follow our forefathers wishes and allow diversity of religion and celebrate a Muslim holiday like we do Christmas?

Would you allow it in your country?  Do you have a freedom of religion amendment or somthing similar in your country's constitutioin?

I won't but they can celebrate all they want. That's the point of the freedom of religion.

Indecently, besides Christmas (which is largely secular now) the Federal or state governments do not observe any religious holidays.

So your point is moot.

And stop declaring all cultures as American culture.

You really need to get out of Oregon and actually live here for a few years before you decide to become the authority of American culture.

They can do what the hell they want but how hypocritical is it to celebrate another religions holidays yet not celebrate their religion? Do you listen to that voice alot? They have meds for that.

When I lived in Bradford UK the local community celebrated both Christmas and Muslim holidays or celebrations. Only community in the UK that does it and does it well.

First, They do celebebrate a religious holiday (Christmas), so it is possible to add another.

Second, which culture do you think is American culture?  Since you mentioned it.  Are you trying to say the Euro-centric culture is truly American culture and all the others are lucky to be here?

We have our own unique culture here. It's an American culture and has been shaped and formed by the various peoples and other cultures that have come over here throughout the last 400 odd years.

The base is certainly, European and British in origin but it has evolved into something much different than that.

Still, one overriding culture here in the USA.

I think that is an old-fashioned view of American culture.  One that is no longer true, and truly never was, but it was forced by the Euro-centric people in power.
