Obscure TOS Question

This is really reaching, but here goes.

I am sure that every viewer of Star Trek TOS noticed the various pictures above the "work stations" for Spock, Uhura, etc.

Some of those were forms of artwork and others real photographs. I am trying to track down the source of a few of them as I believe that some of them are actual photographs taken at the observatory where I work.

Question, would it be the art director or the set designer who handled choosing what was used for such a thing?  Do you think that anyone is still around who might remember or have records for my answer?  I see from IMDB that the TOS art directors have passed away. :(

Try emailing CBS directly. They might have an answer.
