So I've read Destiny, LTP, and Singular Destiny.
I was surprised to see Adm. McCoy mentioned in the book,as well as Scotty, as still living. I'm assuming that humans live longer in the future, so are there any other wicked old characters still considered alive in the book canon? I know Spock is around.
Secondly, does Star Trek exist solely in the Milky Way Galaxy? I read about the galactic barrier, which I remember from ST V, so when I read about the Delta Quadrant or the Klingon Empire, is this all in the Milky Way?

All of the TREK adventures are in the Milky Way Galaxy with the exception of one TNG episode in which the ENT-D is sent to a different Galaxy and then brought back with the help of the Traveler.

Well Scotty basically skipped 75 years of his life as told in "Relics" (TNG) so if McCoy is still alive even in Encounter at Farpoint it is not that surprising that Scotty would still be alive in Destiny I suppose.
Hmm... I haven't seen that episode about the Ent.D. Is that a Season Seven episode?? I must say I don't want to see the traveller again he was the real weak point in "Remember Me."
