Chr, Even on a SW board ST isn't even given a fair shot IMO. They all have what seems to be very huge numbers in their various ships, fighters, etc. I've read that Slave I could destroy a Galaxy class starship. REALLY? Are SW weapons that good, and ST weapons that bad, or is there a lot of chest thumping and puffing going on over in SWland? (Which I hear was a good place to go til the PT came out.) Sorry, couldn't resisit.

According to the attack of the clones incredible cross sections the space mines the slave one drops have more power behind them then the Enterprise's shields can block. The missiles it fires have a yield of 190 MT if i remember correctly and the Accumulator cruiser's turbolasers are about 200GT a shot. They are using official numbers to say this.

How do they get these 'official' numbers anyway?

Maybe its the huge ST fan in me, but I just can't see Fett destroying the Enterprise D, even though IMHO she's an ugly ship design.

I feel it's fair to mention that many Trek cloaks are visible to the naked eye. Sulu even snipes Kruge's BOP in TSFS while pointing his finger at the viewscreen. |
Especially given that in Undiscovered Country, the emissions from the engines are exactly what is used to destroy General Chang's 'perfect' cloak equipped BoP.
"Well, the thing's gotta have a tailpipe" indeed. |
It was a Prototype, and if Chang hadn't messed around he could have destroyed the Enterprise. |
Only because the Enterprise didn't know how to track him. ?SW missiles have an emission's tracker as one of their default gadgets. |
That's assuming that the missiles would be set to track a cloaked BoP's Emissions (if there were even any) which would no doubt be different to ships from SW. |
It's engines give off an ion emission. This we know per UC. ?Prototorps and Conc missiles have sensors that track these. ? Ergo, cloaking won't help here. |
I wasn't ¿referring to the Ion emissions, but the warp drive. As I've said before cloaked ships can hide their emissions (obviously the prototype in VI was an exception) or the cloaking device wouldn't work. |
I will now ask for you to submit evidence of this claim.

as a fan of both i will say that a Bop will triumph over a x-wing sorry wars fans but a bop hold about a dozen crew where as a x-wing only holds a pilot and a droid. the thing nothing in star wars and star trek compares it's silly to even compare. star trek combat is like submarine combat, while wars combat is like dogfighting. so folks give it up i like both for what they are

No contest! A bird of prey is a ship, whereas an X-fighter is a single, one-person craft. And, how can one human compete with a ship full of Klingons?

So, the technical responses have been very interesting, love good Trek-tech debates.
I'm going with my gut and basic onscreen evidence with this one. BoP pwns the X-Wing.
Somewhere just beyond my reach someone´s reaching back for me.

Yes definatly the BoP for the win the single seeter X-Wing would not have a hope is a much smaller ship so off course its shields would be a lot weaker too . It would be like fire photon booom by by X-wing .
@Capt,Lew Ha lol indeed good one .
