I tried downloading IE8 and it wouldn't work. After calling Microsoft, because I pay them for dial up, they told me to eliminate conflicting software. Their fix was to have me uninstall IE8.
Good luck.. |
You would have better luck with FireFox TB. You can download it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.htmlIt's not as fast as IE8 but its more secure overall buddy.

I heard that IE8 is actually a virus. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm on IE8 right now (just installed it today) and apart from a few initial timing issues -- which I also had with the previous Explorer so that probably has more to do with my vodem -- I haven't had any real problems so far. Haven't tried it with youtube yet. But there are a lot of sites that are saying they will be upgrading themselves to be more compatible with the more recent browsers. Youtube seems to be one of those.
Time will tell if there is anything wrong with the latest Internet Explorer.

What irritates me is Microsoft crapware is know for bugs. Every time I download an update or a fix it does everything from causing various problems I didn't have to begin with to actually either crashing my computer to locking it up at any given time.
I've tried other browsers and they ALL take over the computer and modify other programs to only work with that browser, with that browser running or through the browser.
The Earthlink browser took control over even looking at folders. When I would click on a folder it would pop up in the Earthlink browser!
I'm intimidated by any new software that's supposed to help. What does Firefox get out of giving away software. Nothing is free. Will it pull an Earthlink or an IE and take over my computer? Will it take over my image and video files, folders and other things I am used to using? Etc... How difficult is it to uninstall? How much will it leave behind? |
Two words for you: Windows 7 Been using it now since the first RC and I have to tell you it is so much better than Vista and XP. I have had a few minor compatability issues whith two programs and that was only because they were not made to work with 7 and you know I changed compatability under properties of both apps and they work fine now.
