Sid was at his best in any episode involving:
A) Bashir's friendship with O'Brien. B) Bashir's friendship with Garak. C) Bashir's involvement with Section 31. D) Bashir's involvement with Starfleet's thinktank consisting of other genetically-enhanced humans. E) Bashir coming to terms with the fact he's not infallible.
And although it was really only showcased in one episode, I thought Sid (as Bashir) really shone when he tried to mentor Jake.
But hey, trying to mimic a bad comicbook villain? Not Sid's strong suit. Ha.
Oh, and OtakuJo, how could you not include "Distant Voices?" I thought Sid's performance was exceptionally good in that one.

"Distant Voices" comes under the blanket statement of "All Bashir-centred episode........" etc. dunnit? Actually for that one I thought his performance was really good and that there were a lot of very good scenes. And I do luv watching it and all. However one wee criticism I will make of "Distant Voices" was that I felt it was over-explained. I share Professor Tolkein's wariness when it comes to one-on-one allegory, and I've always thought that the best surreal fiction is that which trusts in the viewer's own interpretation of what is going on. It had the potential to be a really brilliant episode, but was dragged down a little by a couple of scenes. Having said that, though. I do enjoy it and there are some very good and sometimes creepy bits too. *smashing up Quark's bar comes to mind*. But I was thinking backwards from Season 7 because my most fave episodes are in 6&7 -- and realised that there wasn't a lot that was going to be left out of "the list" so that's why I stopped. ^_^ Not because Distant Voices, Armageddon Game, The Wire... etc would not have been on a fave. list -- but rather because they would have been!

I loved Distant Voices-I loved seeing him slowly age-In the beginning, when he only had some gray at the temples, JULIAN looked like Mr. Fantastic from Fantastic 4. In general, we got to see that JULIAN will age gracefully

that was the worst acting I've ever seen Siddig do, and i'm a huge fan. But i agree it must be that it was Vantika trying to get thru. Still, not a fan. As far as the episode man alone, i like it. shows the doctor really doing his thing. that's one of my fav episodes.

Ioan Grufydd?? ooh yep he's pretty yummy too. I get a feeling you would probably like Hornblower, JG!! I wonder what it is about that skunk pattern in the hair of men. | Quote (lamoglia @ Aug. 07 2009, 11:04 pm) | can't agree on this episode. it was so weird. just bashir running around. |

Aw, when JULIAN broke his hip, I felt for him-my mom just had her hip replaced. He was very cute when he was very old. BTW What's Hornblower?

It's a BBC series which was based on a classic series of books, set in the navy during the Napoleonic wars. With lots of swashbuckling and stuff like that. (Kind of like "Sharpe" in ships.)
I mean I know sid's not in it and all but I just get this weird feeling you might like it -- it stars the same guy who was Mr Fantastic in the movie Fantastic 4.
Anyhow... That's by the by. Just a thought.

Design flaw in the making of the phasers, maybe?

Actually I never noticed that. (Perhaps it's less noticeable when it's a moving image.)

He is pointing the phaser and looking in the same direction. it's the special effect that is not doing what it should be doing. However it looks to me like if the did make the phaser shoot in the right direction it would have blotted out Julian's face/the whole shot and then juliansgirl7 would have been... perturbed (and violent)
