The City On The Edge of Forever
I know, I know, everybody but me loooooooves it.
I wanted and still want spacestuff.
Put it on a spaceship or station or give it spacestuff gadgets and I would looooove it too.

I was all set to complain about how you put Where No Man Has Gone Before on your list, which was a classic, but to put COTEOF on your list... ?Go away. ?You're no longer welcome here.

go away?
you're no longer welcome here?

a joke?

curious that

this is the stuff of inhumanity
the act of demeaning another
to reject
to invalidate

irrelevent to needing thicker skin

to come to join with others
alluding to star trek
as something
important

ask a question

have a perfectly valid
non directed
personal response

demean
reject
the poster

call it his fault
he needs to be tougher?

do i have this straight?
a differing perspective
that meets with disapproval
has verbal abuse
as an acceptable response?

and it's the posters'
responsiblilty to
toughen up?

not unlike the
violent parent
who tells the
child he brought
it on himself

un huh

I think it was pretty obviously  joke.  First of all, if someone wanted to make you uncomfortable for posting your opinion, he wouldn't come right out and tell you that he's doing so, right?  I mean, I thought this was pretty obvious.

Look, I'm sorry if you were offended, but I can't take too much blame here because this really wasn't a cryptic joke, it was an obvious one.  I understand sometimes it's hard to tell what a person's tone is from their typed words, but seriously, this one wasn't even close.  No one speaks the way I posted and is serious about it.

Also, if I were serious, I wouldn't be telling you that I wasn't...  So yeah, it's pretty obvious I wasn't serious.

Move Along Home is the worst ST episode I've seen. And I've seen quite a few in my time.

You just chased off a poster and offended another, who exactly do you think found it funny? :eyesroll:

Can you be anymore selfish?

Since we sorta got off on the wrong foot here, let me make it clear I have nothing against you and will be happy to welcome you to the board with open arm...  And to treat you with the same sarcasm I treat everyone else :p

Really, other than maybe two people (not you, Exodus, I kinda like your intolerance and arrogance, especially since you do seem like a smart guy who makes a lot of good points), I don't dislike anyone here, and am only openly hostile with one.

Curling is just funny.  I can't believe someone actually thought that was a good idea.

Now, replace the rock with a grenade and the brooms with flame throwers and we might have ourselves a sport!

Really, I'm surprised that more Trek fans aren't baseball fans.  You need to be fairly well educated to play and watch the game - And since Trek attracts the smartest among us, you'd think the two would gell.

I disagree.

I don't think watching Star Trek is a measure of anyone's intelligence nor is baseball. ¿The majority enjoy sports for the aspect of competition.  it's also implies that anyone that doesn't watch or doesn't like Trek is less educated and that would be arrogant & prejudice.

In other words, you take great pleasure in being disliked.

I disagree.

I don't think watching Star Trek is a measure of anyone's intelligence nor is baseball. ¿The majority enjoy sports for the aspect of competition.

What you watch is not an indication of your intellegence, I agree with that, but it is true that more intellegent shows generally attract a smarter audience.  Baseball requires a solid knowledge of the game and a tactical mind to fully appriciate, and therefore attracts a smarter breed of people - Though many below-average people will watch it as well for other reasons.

Same thing with Trek.  The high-concept stories and morality plays attract a smarter breed, but then there are people who also watch it to watch green animal women and ships blowing up.  It's not that everyone who watches it must be smart, it is that the more intellegent are attracted more to it - They get more enjoyment out of it and are more likely to come back to it.
