Where's Sybok?

At the time of the new movie, how old would Sybok be? He's probably no older than Spock so I'm assuming he'd be in his mid 20s- no older than 30.

I'm assuming he was banished from Vulcan at an early age, just like in the original timeline, and he's now living somewhere, maybe planning his quest to travel to the centre of the galaxy to find God.

What about Nimbus III- is it "The planet of galactic peace" in the alternative timeline? Is Sybok living there?

Perhaps he's on Nimbus III gathering a group of people to join him on his quest and "frees" them from their "pain"

I'm assuming if Sybok was brought back for a future sequel, he'd be much younger than he was in Star Trek V

If Sybok was banished when he was still a "young student," then it is somewhat safe to assume that he would be one of the few surviving members of the Vulcan race, due to his being off-world at the time of the attack.

it would be interesting to explore that character and his reactions to the events of the new movie. Would he continue his quest for Sha Ka Ree, or would he put his differences with the philosophies of his people aside to help rebuild his race?

Sounds like the makings of a good Trek novel to me.

or maybe a good trek movie?

But what if Sybok wasn't banished from Vulcan, what if he stayed on Vulcan as a student and what if he was on it when Vulcan was destroyed- could Sybok be dead?

If he was, you would think Spock would have mentioned his death in the new movie

I think since they are making Spock more emotional and in touch with his human side in this timeline, that they could switch it up and make Sybok much more restrained and "Vulcan-like" in this timeline.  The opposite of what he was in the Prime timeline.

That's if they are even going to give Spock a brother in this timeline (i.e. he was off-world when the destruction of the planet occurred).

What makes you say that? I find that to be an odd attitude.

He exists for sure. He is older than Spock. I don't know how much older. Spock was born in 2232. Sybok is older. Therefore he exists.
:logical:

As far as dead goes possible but very doubtful. Let's try to assign Sybok a birthdate. Maybe 2225. If Sybok rebelled as a student I doubt as if he would be more than 18 years old. Let's assign 2243 as his banishment date. Whether he actually rebelled in this new timeline is debatable. But I doubt as if Nero's incursion had too much of an effect on Vulcan prior to the attack. Especially to a Vulcan student who was deep in study.

This all being said Sybok is most likely out there studying in his quest for Sha Ka Ree. Now whether things have changed for him after he heard about the destruction of his home planet that is plausable. I personally think this would drive him to find Sha Ka Ree even more so.

Maybe Sybok got ahold of Prime Spock in the new timeline and melded with him and told him where to find Sha Ka ree in the mind meld. LOl. Just kidding!

then what has he been eating?

Beleive me Sybok is ded.  Its not like he can order for Dominos.  Coz when Kirk bugged out they didn't bother going back to check.

When Sybok crapped his pants, his bactieria are now infesting that planetoid.

its a shame the federation couldn't refurbish the doomsday machine - it would of been an excellent defense against the borg.

As to Sybok, he was no doubt exiled at that point and living off Vulcan. With so few Vulcans left and facing hard times, it would be interesting to see Sybok enter the picture, see the contrasts between Sarek and both his sons.
